Maybe there is an argument if you were going to play 1 game today, but as far as investing in a player for the long term it isn't close because of Gasol's age and recent injury history.

Gasol would be an awesome get for the Spurs or any other contender, but he can't be counted on as a franchise building block at this stage.
Well I guess if you consider 4 years a big deal, as Bosh is 30 and Gasol is 34. Do you really believe that the Heat can build around Bosh?? IMO, Gasol would make more sense for 2/3 years.

There is no way with Kobe playing that LA won't have more wins than Utah, Milwaukee, Philly, Boston, Orlando, & Detroit.

If Kobe stays healthy, the Lakers are looking like about a .500 team in the west right now. If not, it could be a bit more like what we saw last year.

Whether they can be better than .500 or possibly a playoff team in the west will depend on what other moves they make.

There isn't enough out there to make them a threat in the west, but there might be enough that they could mess up someone else's season.

Tough call. Do you break up arguably the best guard combo in the league or do you give up the potential "next Lebron" when you can have him mentored by the "current Lebron"?

I don't think either cave if they're smart. The longer Minny holds on to Love, the less they'll likely get for him.

4 years is a huge deal.

As for the Heat, it depends on their goals. I think signing Bosh to this deal significantly reduces/eliminates their chances of being a realistic title contender any time soon, but it puts them in the thick of the East race for the next 3 years or so. Bosh is really good.

Personally, I think they would have been better off going the route of the 6ers this year and trying to get cap space for another free agency overhaul in 2016, but Riley thinks he can win the East, and I can't rule the Heat out right now.

The fact is the TWolves expectations will lower, so if it's now or later they have to get something for him.

If they can somehow land Love while keeping Wiggins, they could be scary good in the very near future.

Is Brian Windhorst really dumb or just trolling? He's on ESPN talking about all of this money that the Lakers are spending and claiming that they are trying to be a playoff team next year. He's using getting Lin, signing Hill and Swaggy P.

He doesn't mention that Lin is an expiring contract, Hill is a 2 year deal with a team option on the 2nd year and Swaggy P is only $5 mil per year.

Well Wiggins is playing tonight and they have no intention of trading him.
