Yes, they will have room to sign a couple shooters. After that, they should have about 4 or 5 million maybe a little less.

After Lebron they have a little over $1 mil. After the Love trade it will likely add another $2 mil. So you are looking at $3 mil. They can always get rid of Hopson or another player to shed an extra 2 or 3 and that is assuming they don't get rid Varajeo instead of TT. Who's contract is $10 mil.

So they could sign Ray and another shooter realistically.

Could very well be.. Or not?

As far as clearing space, you need it either way, just in case.

And the Cavs gave up no real talent.

New GM, he needs to do something to try to undo the mistakes of the other one.

Until I hear from James, Bosh or Riley, I'm not assuming anything anymore.

And they certainly don't release false reports to play games with the media.

Apparently, there is significant mutual interest between San Antonio and Pau Gasol.

I don't know if its enough to merit the pennies that SA can offer (many can pay more $), but the interest is mutual.

I don't know if it happens, but I could see Pau being very interested despite being able to get more from other teams. He's made his money and the Spurs play exactly the way Pau likes to play. He'd be all but guaranteed another ring.

You are assuming Love would give them a sweetheart deal. His new contract he WILL want a max deal.....you're going to have to dump a LOT of salary. I don't see that team as any better than what he has now.

No chance they would put Thompson in a trade to get Love. Varajao would be the guy to move.

I follow/know this guy enough to believe him. He will either look like a genius or a total failure. I guess he is willing to risk that.

I don't think there's going to be a deal at all.

Minny has no real motivation to sell on pennies on the dollar. They'd want significantly more than what I've heard bandied about on these boards. There's no guarantee they can make a trade for Love.

There's a better chance they go into the season with the same roster they have right now. Minny may move Love before the trade deadline, but they will undoubtedly have better offers.
