Of course, but like the Yankees the Red Sox just get to reload every year. Let's be honest, the only reason they missed the playoffs last year was massive injuries.

Won't likely happen again.

Ugh. Yes, please do.

How's it feel that your team has morphed into an exact copy of your hated rival? Aw who am I kidding, it probably feels pretty good to root for one of the unlimited budget/autoplayoff teams. I wouldn't know.

If the Giants see you guys in the WS, our pitching will take you down just like we did the Rangers. And no more complaining about low TV ratings, that one would be pretty cool.

You know that low TV ratings makes it so that the larger market team immediately wins the World Series, easily. The FIX is in! Bud Selig was the second gunman on the grassy knoll... when he worked for the CIA!

I was extremely happy that you guys won. Not only did you deserve it, but it was nice to see different teams in the world series.

Nice to meet a humble Boston fan. Most are knowledgeable. Few are humble, which I always found funny because of the years of suffering that most endured. Either way, good luck against Cliff Lee. I'm assuming the ALCS will be a New York-Boston affair, and there is no way the Yanks miss out on Lee now. Giants call winner!

Lol, hopefully. I don't see TB contending for top spot. And I also don't see Lee turning down a 7 year deal. I bet the Yanks will throw anything at him now. With our 2 big acqusitions they need him. Really sucks, I liked Burnett ;). Seemed like every Sox/Yanks game I went to he pitched, and we always won :D. But good luck to you guys this season, and I bet we are going to have our hands full, as will the Yanks.

They have 2 studs (Buch and Lester) and 3 duds as far as I'm concerned although admittedly I don't watch a lot of Red Sox games. I think Beckett may be done as a top of the rotation type starter due to injuries (though he may be able to throw in a dominant start here and there), but Lackey could conceivably have a bounce back year (imhumbleo). DiceK just seems ineffective most of the time.

We still need to pick up a LHP, but as long as we don't get the injury bug again our pitching will be pretty solid. If Lester and Buch pitch like they did last year, and Bard could set up Papelbon like he was last year we should be alright. I know Beckett will be better this season, at least I hope so. And Lacky needs to find some consistency. Its our relief that really let us down last year. We'll see what moves we make before the season. But I am excited to watch my Sox this year as well.

Last year was rough, but I believe towards the end he really got consistent and looked pretty solid. Hopefully he can start the season this way.

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like the pitching staff needs some work. I'd forgotten the Giants got Ramirez from the sox - and how bad he'd been for them.

Ramon is still a good pitcher. He just had a rough season. Our starters put relief in some shitty situations last year. He may do good for you guys. He def has it in him.

Zito might be available, if they wanna pick up the remaining salary... :).

LOL. Just came back into this thread to make that same point. Actually.... what's Zito's record when his team scores him 4 runs or more? Something like 106-5?

That's not such an outlandish suggestion. If i were Sabean, I'd pickup a few million a year to make the trade happen. Zito's probably worth a minimum of 10M a year.

It isn't like the Sox don't have the money or anything...
