"There will definitely be triangle elements. With the rule changes and this roster, I think it’s important to run and get shots early. I think it would be crazy to take screen-and-roll away from Steph Curry, and there’s not a lot of screen-and-roll in the triangle. We’re not going to be looking at the90s Chicago Bulls. I really want to take advantage of the passing abilities of (Andrew) Bogut and (David) Lee. I really want to utilize everybody skills in playing with tempo, flow and rhythm.”
That’s going to take a top-notch assistant coaching staff, right?: “Yeah, I’ve given it a lot of thought. Bob has a lot of ideas, as well. We’re going to take our time and collaborate on that. I know that’s maybe the key for this whole thing for me. I’ve got to make sure I’ve got the best staff I can possibly hire. I’ve got a lot of names and ideas, but Bob and I are going to put our heads together and make sure we do it right.”
As long as it's not always Barnes + 4 bench players on the floor, I'm okay with whatever Kerr does with him.
Since no one has any idea what to expect from Kerr, how he's going to run things, etc there's no possible way to answer the first question.
As to the second, my guess is he will be packaged in a trade to upgrade something, probably with D Lee.
Agree with this to a certain extent. Can't really say what to expect given the fact that Lacob and co once again hire a coach without any prior NBA experience.
I know that there have been rumors floating around with the K Love situation, but in my mind I actually expect the warriors to not deal Barnes this offseason. If anything, a package of Lee/Thompson seems more likely considering Klays development into an all around player. I can see the Dubbs holding onto Barnes for this season and assessing him before any move takes place.
The Warriors would never give up Klay Thompson in favor of keeping Barnes in any trade if that's what you're saying. Thompson is legitimate top tier 2 guard, whereas Barnes is still struggling to find his way in the NBA in many respects. That may not entirely be his fault, but that's the current reality.
I know most of us would be in favor of that, but the only thing is that the "most of us" are not the Minnesota GM, who would probably want to start a package involving Klay Thompson. QUOTE]
Kevin Love is in the driver's seat, not Minnesota's GM, who has almost no leverage considering that Love will be a FA in one year. Love can basically veto any deal he doesn't like, by threatening not to resign with that team. What team is going to give up major assests to rent a player for one year? Minnesota may have to take what they can get, particularly if Love makes it clear that there are only a couple of teams he'll re-sign with.

Umm if you're paying attention right now the Dubbs look to be sending Klay off which is what i stated when i did back then.
Unfortunately for the Warriors, neither Kevin Love or his agent seem to have any interest in using their leverage to help out any team acquiring him. With his help, Warriors might've been able to acquire him without giving up Klay. Since Love and his agent have encouraged a free market bidding contest his price has gone up. I won't get Kevin Love paid any better, but it will cost the team that acquires him max assets to pull off a trade, since they are in competition with multiple teams. If Love and his agent were smart they would've cooked up a deal with a team like Riley did with the big three in Miami. It will be interesting if it does happen to see if Love/Martin is really an improvement over Lee/Thompson. It's certainly the kind of splash they probably feel they need to make after firing a very successful coach in MJ.
Is the combo of Riley and Love better than Lee/Thompson? From a scoring perspective yes and perhaps rebounding as well. Where it hurts for the Warriors is on the defensive end and possibly a chemistry issue. Iggy is a first team defender but IMO Klay is the best defensive player on this team after Bogut. With a backcourt of Martin and Curry, the Dubbs will have nightmares trying to cover some of the elite PG's in the West.
Also, it doesn't baffle me that Love's agent would want to assist the dubbs - why would he? The agent's focus is to get the best deal for his client and with more suitors, the better the deal. Yes, it would be better for the W's to trade off Barnes instead of Klay, but with more suitors the more competitive your offer should be.
Iggy moves to the 2 most likely helping the back court out defensively. Barnes would start at 3 who's becoming a solid defender himself and still young and improving. With a lineup of Curry, Iggy, Barnes, Love, and Bogut we should be fine defensively, even with Love's deficiencies on that end.
