Terrell Owens: We've seen the best of Tony Romo - NFL.com

He brings up the point that this is two back surgeries in 2 years. The guy on the end said that we may have seen the last of the mobile Tony. Well, isn't that where he makes his big plays? If he's not mobile, can he still be the Tony Romo the 'Boys need him to be?

I'd like add he's also 33 AND there are about 5 QB's that could go in the first round. Might Jerruh draft someone to replace him this year?

I don't think this is a career ending injury, but I think it certainly is a career threatening injury. It was back injuries that ended the careers of Troy Aikman, Jay Novacek, and Charles Haley.

Jerry has said that the Cowboys would not take a QB with an early draft pick. I hope he rethinks that. While we haven't seen the end of Tony Romo's career, I think that it is visible from here.

I'll take fans that post the most about Romo despite disliking the Cowboys for $100, Alex.

How long has it been since you have seen Romo play? He hardly ever scrambles anymore, nor does he rely on broken plays to find success.

He was never that.

I think that sums it up well.

His best days are probably behind him with an injury like this. Jerruh would be smart to draft a QB and groom him. No one he has on the roster is the future of the 'Boys.

Do you actually pay attention to anything that kook says ????....Romo is the only thing that has kept that franchise above water for some time now, and Jerry just gave him a huge contract with big guaranteed money....Yes, he will be back next year and you don't just get a qb out of college to start out playing at the level of a Romo.....He is a gunslinger like Favre, he just has not been as fortunate....They live and die by taking chances, and sometimes it don't work in their favor but the next play could be a wow play though....

I'm not a big Tony Romo fan but I have to say that I lose respect for Terrible Owens taking cheap shots at him a day after surgery. Nice team-mate.

I would agree with you but that would require me having some respect for Owens in the first place.

What is he supposed to say? It's obvious that back problems (and not the first time or surgery) makes it difficult to come back. TO was 100x the competitor romo ever was.

He should STFU. Day after surgery? Try wishing him a speedy recovery? Or look for a camera and talk shit about guy who's down? At least Terrible Owens doesn't have to worry about getting hit in retaliation....

As for Tony Romo, he is what he is. A guy with immense talent who just can't get a huge monkey off his back and win that big game when it counts most. His career is winding down and honestly, I feel bad for the guy because he has worked his butt off and is in the worst place on earth to be a franchise QB. He will probably be back, I think and as far as being some scrambler, he really was never that. He was able to extend plays somewhat but never a guy that could run a lot. I don't think that changes if the surgery is successful and he comes back at full health. Dallas does need to find somebody to get ready for the near future, for sure. Not sure I'd use a high pick though, too much pressure to rush a guy in that isn't ready. It happens too much these days.

T.O. was an excellent player. Tough, great route runner, hard worker but he has always had a big mouth and ego and he got himself run outta town just like everywhere else he played but no, they are not team mates so it really doesn't matter what that pos says anyway.

 they need a real QB that can be taught how to play the position properly. NFL owners and GM's need to get back to understanding this and we may see some more Aaron Rodgers type players. There are always the few exceptions like the Peyton Mannings but most great QB's have to learn a lot when they get there.

I wouldn't call Romo a mobile QB either, but he's shifty, kind of Big Ben like...I don't think that will be compromised...but with the back you never know...probably should be looking at a younger guy to develop in the draft.
