The state of Texas hasn't been putting out a ton of great interior defensive lineman. Baylor got one in Billings and the SEC SEC SEC has taken the rest. I look for Texas and Oklahoma to either suck on defense in a few years or be running 3-4 schemes if they don't pick it up.

Oklahoma was pretty much running a 3-4 scheme this year until nelson and Phillips got hurt. It looked really good, but when you're that thin on your defensive front and you lose your two best guys it's hard to keep it together.

No but we did get a pretty good DE the other day. I think his name was something like Da'Shawn Hand.

Texas looks good at the moment on the defensive line. Even got some good underclassmen at the position. Just nothing redshirting or playing as a freshman to get excited about. Also, the 2014 prospects are kinda meh from a recruiting hype standpoint. They may turn out just fine for all I know though.

5 star recruits don't always turn into to stars and 3 star his surprise people often enough. Sam Bradford was not heavily recruited at all. Stoops wasn't even going to give him a contract but Kevin Wilson basically put his job on the line to get him one.

A'Shawn Robinson dropping Texas last minute was about the most disappointed I have been in a recruit leaving in a long time. Can't blame him though, when Saban calls you gotta listen. Especially when _iaz was the coordinator you would be playing for at Texas. To rub salt in the wound he is leading Bama in sacks as a true freshman...

I agree, but defensive line has one of the highest hit rates in recruiting. Texas has had very few busts on the defensive line and very few surprise players.

Very true. It's amazing to me that two programs like Texas and Oklahoma have had trouble recruiting at that position.
