Read Matthew Berry's Hundred Little Lies on ESPN. Some were very interesting.

Those touting Vernon Davis' monster potential may like this one (#98):
Fourteen, zero, one, zero, one, two, zero. Those are Vernon Davis' weekly fantasy-point totals in the regular season starting in Week 11, when Kaepernick took over as the starting quarterback.

For those who think TD's are something to bank on, you may like #97:
from 2002 to 2011, 70 different wide receivers had 10-touchdown seasons, and 53 of them (or 76 percent) did not have double-digit touchdowns the following season.

Was not a fan of Carson Palmer until I read #90:
playing with not a single wide receiver as good as Fitzgerald, completed 61.1 percent of his passes, threw for more than 4,000 yards and had 22 touchdowns.

Don't feel good about Alex Smith? You might after reading # 66:
Over the past nine seasons, Andy Reid offenses have been top-10 in the NFL in passing yards eight times.

Don't like Spiller? (Like me.) Chew on #34:
Last season, with new Bills coach Doug Marrone as their coach, the Syracuse Orange ran the ball 555 times, ...63 more times than any other team in the Big East.

Have you jumped on Luck's bandwagon? Read #23:
Of Luck's 4,374 passing yards last season, 2,636 (60.2 percent) came when the Colts were playing from behind.

Cobb seems to be hyped pretty high in the rankings. Guess which QB-WR combo has the highest percentage? Extrapolating information from #1 & #2, Rodgers completes more than 72.7 of his passes to Nelson, which is tops in the NFL.

Unrelated to Mr. Berry's list, I have an observation of my own.

Being a Bears fan, it's nice to see fantasy owners buying into the hoped-for improved offense of Trestman. Marshall, Forte, Jeffery and even Bennett are ranked nicely. But no love for Jay? If these other Bears are gonna put up fantasy-relevant numbers, then Jay will have to have a decent year. No?

(Keep in mind that I personally have Jay ranked 15th among QB.)

I thought I heard a rumor on sports-talk radio this afternoon that Harvin may need hip surgery. Haven't checked it out. Maybe I heard wrong?

Maybe I need to bump up my usage numbers thread?

Harvin is slated to get a second opinion on his hip early next week, NFL.com reports. The report suggests that there are concerns that Harvin may have a slight tear in the labrum of his hip. Analysis: In any case, Harvin will start training camp on the Seahawks' PUP list, but until the severity of his hip issue is clarified, it's somewhat of a concern for fantasy drafters and a situation worth monitoring closely.

Per Rotoworld...............ouch!

17 Jay Cutler, Chi (8) With Marshall as his #1 and Jeffery healthy this could end up as one of Cutler's best years.

This comment was taken from my most trusted supplier of fantasy information..............me!

I think the Cutler hate from fantasy analysts would be more accurately described as love for everyone else at the QB position. The Bears do not have as many offensive weapons to share the wealth around as some teams, so I think it is very conceivable that with good health, Forte, Bennett and Marshall all finish top 10 at their respective positions along usable WR3 production from Jeffrey.

All of these things happening still might not make Cutler a top 15 QB because an extremely large percentage of his pass attempts will be to these 4 players, perhaps more so than any other QB with any other 4 players.

I'm not disagreeing tlance. I found this interesting as well:

in 7 seasons as the Offensive Coordinator of the 49ers, Cardinals and Raiders, Trestman's offense had an average of 3806 passing yards and 1574 rushing yards.

Let me just say that the 3806 passing yards average would be quite an increase for Cutler who has averaged on 3048.7 in the last 3 seasons.

But I haven't gotten to the good part yet! In Trestman's first seasons with his new teams (Niners, Raiders, & Cards), he's averaged 4412 passing yards (275.5 yards per game).

If you're a pessimist, you should also know that in the subsequent years that Trestman coached, his main star players had trouble staying healthy - not only his trio of QB (Young, Plummer and Gannon), but his running backs were nothing of the caliber of a Matt Forte. (Murrell, Pittman, (a 29 year-old) Garner, & Wheatley)

I like who ever wrote this!

Ok. Those stats are somewhat eye-opening. If I end up with my avatar on any of my teams, Cutler could be just what I need as a QB2. The price is still really low.

I'm still not sold on Jay, because it's not the potential of the four mentioned skilled players surrounding him, it's the the five up front I'm concerned about. And to be honest, I still see Marshall getting double digit targets a game compared to the other guys.

Random thought?

Not including week 17 (4 points), Stephen Gostkowski had two weeks with 6 points, one week with 7 points and one week with 9 points. For you non-math geeks out there, that leaves 11 weeks last year where he had double digit fantasy points! Are some of you taking TD's away from Brady this year? I'm sure that would leave more potential from Gostkowski.

I think you should take him in the 8th round of all drafts.

I won't, but I shouldn't laugh. I think my 8th rounder last year was Titus Young (Sr.)!!! Now that's funny!

Well Joe...being the Montrealer that I am ..Im looking forward to what Chicago's O looks like...having watched Trestman's O rip up the CFL...
i actually traded the rights to RG3 (who would cost a 4th round pick to be kept) for Cutler(who will cost a 14th to be kept) so ya lets go Cutler....

Going to go AP and Marshall.

Although I think AP might be too obvious. Lynch if not AP.
