I don't think he's overpaid. He's one of the best at his position. He's just slumping right now.

I'm not taking into account his current offensive struggles. Elvis is a great defensive SS, but there is no way he's worth what they are paying him. I'm not saying I was upset when they signed him, it's not my money, but there is no way I would have given him the money or years they did. JMO.

As long as Andrus gets to right around 3 WAR, then its still good value on the deal, but that requires AT LEAST the offensive production he's provided the last 2 season while maintaining his defensive prowess

Based on his age, then he's a good bet to do that, and technically he's still on his last contract, so his ability to get surplus value on the original extension is a lot easier

How about Round Rock? I still think he will be a good pitcher one day. He just lacks experience.
