I think his style would get him killed. I think he is a much better thrower than he gets credit for, not even close to as bad as Tebow throws.

OC, I have seen Johnny make plenty of great passes from the pocket and outside the pocket. SOrry. I think he is an NFL player.... And a good one... maybe great

Name one.

All of Johnny's big plays are him running around and making stuff happen. Backside throws here, open receiver there, I'll run around here, and ...

That doesn't happen in the NFL.

You 100% have to have the ability to throw the football and win games with your arm. And from the pocket.

Johnny could be a great slot WR in the NFL however.

Shotgun 5-wide.

How many times do you see that in the NFL?

And where was the pressure? It was a spot throw and an early at the snap read.

What else you got?

By the way, Kiper has Teddy Bridgewater and Tajh Boyd ranked ahead of Johnny Manziel in next years draft.

I thought he was #1?

Kiper wrong.... Mamba right

Do you really think that NFL scouts won't grill through film of Manziel and drag him down like they did Matt Leinart and Matt Barkley in the last few years?

Barkley was the guaranteed #1 pick LAST year...., if he came out LAST year.

Get past a 1 year wonder. Let teams and COLLEGE teams and coaches adjust, and at the very least, see what he can do THIS year.

And..... if he actually has an arm that can play in the NFL. I don't think he does.

Just off the top of my head...How about Fran Tarkenington, he seemed to do "alright" in the NFL.

Thats too long ago for you. OK. How about Ben Roethlesberger. He has 2 Super Bowl wins and he makes plays by scrambling and improvisation.

He became a better pocket passer as the season progressed. This season he has three very good RBs that will be doing most of the running this year. JFF is working on being more of a pocket QB.

I saw him make a lot of good passes out of the pocket last season. But I also watched every game. Some more than once. Not just highlights.

All running QBs do because they know that is what the NFL looks for mainly. But whether he can do that or not will be the big question.

Same here. He has an arm. Not the strongest, but a decent one. He is an accurate passer. His legs get him on the highlight reels, but he had plenty of pocket passes.

He had days to stand in the pocket and make passes too though. He definitely made some nice throws, but is he better than Matt Scott of Arizona or Pat White from West Virginia was? We'll have to wait and see, he has work to do but he has potential as well.

Ryan Leaf...lmao!

Don't be jealous old butter teeth couldn't get him over to Austin to play some back-up safety for t.u. How does JFF compare to the two elite QBs over there? At least when they pull JFF out of the game it's because we have a big lead not the other way around.

Yep, I said Ryan Leaf.

How many guys have we seen come into the NFL with talent, but either fail or run out of the league due to character and work ethic issues? Leaf, Russell, Leinart, Titus Young, etc...

If he comes into the league playing johnny hollywood, he will soon be on his way out too.

what character or work ethic issues does he have? You mean hanging out with famous people in the offseason? Posting on twitter? Have you heard anyone complain that he is screwing around instead of learning the plays or watching film?

JF is too small to play like he does in the NFL. Tebow learned that he could not run like he did in college. JF will have to change his game to be a top pick and if he does try, then TAMU will not be as good this year.
