Pitiful brain-dead AB by Cruz. Vargas can't find the strike zone to save his life and has just walked Hamilton and Beltre back to back, and Nellie goes and swings at pitches way out of the zone and helps him out.

Vargas fooled both Cruz and Young with slow offspeed pitches way outside. This lead should have been cut in half

I just feel sorry for the whole team on nights like these, usually when Feldman starts. It's just so disheartening to see such a complete bum give away the game in the first few innings. Here you are trying to win a pennant and you have to sit and watch helplessly as this no-talent clown just pisses the game away. A 6-run deficit isn't insurmountable, but the players have to feel like they've got such a mountain to climb.

Pretty much the only silver linings at this point. If the O's can hold on, at least the night won't be a total waste.

Exactly and what makes it even worse is that Perez should have been given the opportunity to start tonite against a weak hitting team that features a good amout of lefties.

If our hitters would start taking a lot more of his off speed junk out of the zone, Vargas would walk in some runs. The one inning where we did damage was when Josh and Beltre took walks.
