At the beginning of the season MY was producing and fresh of damn near winning a batting title.

I see. Sort of like poor mouthing a manager who has lead his team to two straight WS berths and the best record in baseball the third year?

Again, the talent on this team wins in spite of his idiotic game management. A trained monkey could lead this team to a winning record. Funny how that's the only thing you wash apologizers can throw out there and you just completely bypass his obvious stupid decisions.

And I'll say this again. Wash was grossly outclassed in both WS. If we have a better manager we would've win last year.

A managers record is not the only thing you judge him by.

My initial comment concerning Young was in the context of not bringing him up b/c after his comments Wash won't play Profar anyway and others piled on

So no, I didn't change the subject

actually wasn't it jta

Yea but in JTA's defense ... the Profar conversation as with any roster conversation will always intersect with the MY conversation. If whoever TEX brings up sits rather than getting playing time from MY then as JTA said it would not make sense.

Promoting Profar would be like Mike Olt 2.0. It's not totally out of question ... after all Profar is sitting on the same Frisco roster that Olt was on 2 weeks ago.

Maybe Profar is the UIF that will fill the 40th roster spot and bump Tanner Scheppers back to AAA on 31 August.

Sooner or later the weight of all the potential bench talent will have owners who spent money to win calling the GM ... and the GM hired by ownership who wants to win calling the field manager.

At the end of the day the manager works for the GM. He can't hold out forever unless MY goes on a .350/.450 tear.

then how do you grade them?

By his management decisions. Like trotting out an aging dh with negative WAR and an awful batting line every single day in favor of players who are producing and have superior fielding abilities and speed.

and as long as the team is winning they are going to be happy with the manager's decisions.

Might as well stop worrying about it. It is going to take a MY injury to sit him, ala Vernon Wells in LA. That contract is going to keep him from being a bench player.

Yeah, and imagine how much more winning they could do if Wash didn't keep dragging this team down with the anchor that is Michael young.

Or a firing of Ron Washington.

and with his decisions, the team is 21 games over .500, has an 6.5 game lead over the A's & 8 over the Angels and has the best record in the AL.
