I never heard of him until the playoffs and while he was very noticable there I'm not sure I've seen enough of him to commit big money. He could very well be a flash in the pan and will almost certainly get overpaid by somebody.

I get that guys, BUT still we were on our way back and that one incident totally ruined any chance we had.

I agree with that too and maybe I had a bad choice of words there but these signings should be done AFTER we lock up the 2 most important FA's. 4th liners are a dime-a-dozen superstar wingers in their prime aren't, Brodeur not so much but thats just because of his age, losing him wouldnt be as devastating as losing Zach because there are still a few out there we could get and we still have some good ones coming up.

Bernier didn't lose the series, he gave us no chance of coming back. And the refs were no help to Bernier as well. The missed call on Stoll against Gionta. Then not calling a makeup-up call to take 2 minutes away from Bernier's major.

However, it will still take some time for me to not be reminded of that debacle everytime Bernier is playing.

Just looking at next year's crop, I say that you don't go after anyone else this year except gauge Semin. Next year is way, way deeper.
