Good win, nice to have a “backup closer”. In 2023 Doval had one of the best ever seasons for a closer so maybe he has matured

I’d usually agree, but after 2022, I’ll never doubt Steph again.
Wiggins played out of his gourd that post-season, though. As did Looney. Looney has all but disappeared now. Though Dre is playing much better now than he did in ‘22.

Looney had good games and maybe a good series or two…but nobody, I mean nobody…besides Wiggins (a career underachiever mind you)…played well all four series besides Steph. Saying Wiggins played out of his Gourd, is accurate. But it’s like saying Cody Ross played out of his Gourd (we don’t win without him or Wiggs), but that was Steph’s championship (Steph was the Giants starting pitching). He dragged them to the finish line.

Looney was defensive and rebounding MACHINE that post-season season. Granted, he was not as big as Wigs or Steph, but we don’t win that ‘ship without Looney’s boards.

Pitching and defense boys!

Webb was outstanding as was the pen outside of Walker.

Brisbee, this morning:

If Walker’s back is still bothering him, and if that’s affecting his ability to execute, there’s an easy way to sort this out without making an official change. He’ll get rest, treatment, more time, whatever it takes. If he’s physically fine, though, a change would be premature. Nobody benefits when a closer carousel is spinning out of control. It drives fans nuts, it unsettles the clubhouse and it makes the pitchers involved feel like they have to be perfect. A team shouldn’t mess with that in April unless they have to.

Amen.

Tranquillo! Phew. Couldn’t take this as a loss after that Dubs game lmao.
Third time our playoff run has been decimated by an injury. Somewhere Klay and KD are nodding in sympathy.
