That isn’t what I was saying here. Don’t think it is what others are saying either.

The work of a coach/GM absolutely stands on its own. Nobody getting credit or blame for their predecessors.

What I am saying is that when you are a coach/GM for a franchise that has a rep as a bottom tier organization, it takes multiple years of sustained success before outsiders look at the team as anything other than what it has been in the past.

Need to win in the playoffs and then back it up with sustained annual success.
I mean, you seem to agree with me the work of the coach/GM stands on its own. For me that's all that matters. I do not credit Hackett for the previous success of the Broncos (which was not too long ago) nor would I ever hold a team's past failures on a new regime. End of story for me.

Definitely agree with that.

Fair or not, just think it is a lot harder for regimes of organizations like Browns, Commanders, etc because of their recent past.

I mean, you have your fans (or media personalities) that just want to rip/troll a team, for sure.

But I doubt any reasonable fan would take that approach......OK, maybe a little, as even reasonable fans like to troll some.

This was a surprise....heard the Tribe traded Aaron Civale for one of TBs top prospects (Manzardo). surprising to me as Civale under team control for a while and Manzardo plays 1B. Hoping maybe he can play OF?

I mean in terms of players around the league.

This conversation started around the notion that Cleveland didn’t have to overpay to get Watson.

This is the NFL, and NFL players seem less concerned about markets than NBA stars do. If the money and situation are right, most seem willing to play anywhere.

But my point is that if the offer is truly the same, players aren’t likely to pick the Browns, Commanders, etc. because of the reputations those franchises carry.

Rays staff gets even better. He was having a nice year. It's too bad Dolan is cheap

I think if offers were the same they'd then care about winning - the players and coaches on the team, of course. In the Farmer years and earlier I'm sure we had a tough time getting anyone who had similar options.

I doubt we do now which is really all I care about at this moment. whatever one thinks about watson, it does seem players like him and I'd guess many (especially on O) would like to play with him.

Is your team under new ownership already.......Meaning Snyder is completely gone?

Is this a Dolan is cheap move? I mean it is a little, but not like Civale was making all that much. I'll give them benefit of the doubt as I cannot recall us not winning trades when we gave up a pitcher.

Cannot say I blame you. But if our baseball owners could have his will to win I'd take it.....without his decision making powers of course.

I have always been a runner. But just the past few months I started lifting dumbbells. Now I’m getting to like lifting more then running. But the balance is the key for me. I usually run on the treadmill before work then lift dumbbells after work

I get it. They have Quantrill possibly coming back. McKenzie and Bieber not anytime soon on 60 day IL.

So they are now sending out Noah and 3 rookies. 5th starter likely to be Quantrill when healthy or one of these guys: Cody Morris, Joey Cantillo, Hunter Gaddis and Chris Vallimont.

So from that aspect I get it but this is another move for the future. The prospect they acquired has less than average power for a 1st baseman. CLE needs power in a big way, he isn't MLB ready either. Probably next year.

I have always lifted weights and I recently started running. I haven't run in 6-7 years but I have been running between 1.5 and 3 miles 4-5 days a week and actually enjoying it, at least after lol.

You're right. The key is balance. I lift weights after work then I run after lifting weights. I definitely would love to run in the morning so I am not so tired after lifting but that is something I need to figure out.

For sure I thought if we were making a big move we'd get a power bat....preferably who can play OF. Possible that while he's pitched well this year he just isn't viewed that highly around the league either based on injury or maybe they just feel the league will figure him out.

as mentioned and maybe I'm wrong but I really cannot recall us losing a deal when we traded a talented SP.

One thing I have learned through the Snyder experience is that will to win can only go so far.

Need to be highly competent also.
