I really want to say if it is clear that a player will be out for long, like Liam Hendricks, then you can keep him on IL. But if a rule is not black and white then someone is going to take advantage of it. Similar to how the minor league activation is being taken advantage of by everyone.

So. I guess. There is no IL in the off-season( pre draft). After draft you can do whatever you damn want.
I’m gonna stress how much we need IL spots in the offseason.

Or everybody needs to accept that I’ll be picking first again. Cuz I won’t be fielding a full lineup.

I get we've all cheated on the minors bit but that's 2 years going now.

It makes a 1000 times more sense to freeze waivers and make the draft longer then if we have to purge the minors. Should just be all available players

As far as the minors go, I'm wondering if we should wait until final cuts and see who is sent down. I've gotten to the point where I get the stashing of minors who aren't really minors during the season, but beginning the season like that is just a joke. Why even have minors?

I've had a lot of success flipping minors to pros so I'm good with minors for sure.

I had to move Ohtani, his value was frustrating in weekly
Yeah, I'll have to figure that out.
I think you got a nice package for him.

at first glance i was like WTF... but then i remembered weekly transactions really kills his value... you have to decide offense or pitching every week.. and he rarely gets 2 starts a week... less than any other STUD pitcher of his caliber... and then if you want to start him in offense, he has to play DH...

and due to this being dynasty we can not change rules to help him out... what a shame that the most valuable player in fantasy is relegated to this in a dynasty league, where youd think owning him is such a benefit...

anyone in a redraft weekly transaction league that takes advantage of the great ohtani??

Supposedly he's going to pitch every 6 days, so I'm leaning towards DH. Could be worse.

absolutely... he is still an elite DH... you paid very little to get him too... you paid the inconvenience tax...

Agreed, I knew I wanted a top prospect and then solved one position issue, plus a prospect who had a lot of upside.

That was the most frustrating part of having him. I knew when he had one start weeks he wasn't nearly as valuable as a pitcher but then he'd go out there and shove and put up a 30 point start. Or I'd leave him as a DH and he'd have 3 brutal days at the plate, start and then rest a day.

I know the return was "light" but he's not the best for weekly lineups. Wish I would have caught it during the draft

its hard to realize the true effects during draft... in most redrafts(weekly transactions) he will be going in the first round still... but he is not a first rounder...

Its just impossible to differentiate between real life value, where he is the most valuable player in baseball, and fantasy value...

i will also say that if this was daily lineup changes, Ohtani is basically a cheat code... and even more valuable than he is in real life.... which kind of sucks as well....

Had him for the first 4 years of a recent league, won it 3 of 4 but now I have to let him go this off-season as per the league rules. Got him dirt cheap in an auction with him being relatively new at the time. He'll easily fetch $60+ out of the $280 budget

if daily transactions, and mobility between pitching and offense, i would think 140 at the least...

Funny thing is, with all issues I've had with catchers in all of my leagues over the years, I swore I wouldn't trade Melendez. :noidea:

Him and Walker were the two I wanted most, and if I could get those two I was already happy with the return. Fixed a position I consistently suck at
