Not really comparable as Brady's was an onfield/competitive issue (even though I thought it was way overblown). Don't kid yourself, though....didn't say people will complain if he raises it but if he raises it only to 8 or 10 games many of the complainers will say it's still not enough.

NFLPA will also complain if Rog increases it. Browns have a huge fan base, I realize, but I don't think non Browns players are Browns fans.
You can continue to waffle around what powers the CBA grants Rog. It doesn't have anything to do with the infraction.

People will always complain but obviously Rog and the NFL feel it's worth it.

Watson will be sitting more than 6 games now. How many?????

Enjoy another year of mediocrity.

NFLPA likely will complain.
Of course they'll complain. I don't know that they will be upset? They're just doing their job. You and the Brown fans are the only ones upset. Another blown move by the FO.

Terell Pryor would've served his 5 games but left college to go to the pros.

It wasn't just free tats. Dude got like 12 speeding tickets in 12 different cars.. I don't recall anything about him having to serve that suspension in the nfl. But he also was a shitty nfl qb and had 2 decent years as a Wr.
my thing is. He wasnt apart of the NFL when he did whatever he did. He couldnt have broke any NFL rules.

How does that contract signing go?

Here sign here. Welcome to the NFL now your suspended for what you did in your past!

The NFL has agreements with college football, the CFL, and other organisations. These are in place to prevent players avoiding punishment by moving from 1 organisation to another.

I was wrong.

Dexter Lawrence tested positive for steroids at Clemson in December 2018. He would have missed the 2019 college season through suspension. He registered for the NFL Draft and was selected by the Giants. He played in 2019.

Reggie Bush is somewhat irrelevant here. He wasn't banned or suspended. His college trophy award was vacated.

The NFL CBA is based on players not being able to avoid being selected in the Draft by teams they don't want to play for. The NFL has, or at least had, an agreement to honour CFL contracts meaning players couldn't get out of their 2 year CFL deal to join the NFL if they became a year-1 star. Upholding a college drugs ban made sense in the NFL 15 years ago. I don't really see why that's changed...but the NFL is a business and it makes business decisions rather than sporting decisions. The personal conduct policy has always been about the NFL kowtowing to public opinion rather than the law.

I expected a year was possible and and a case could be made it should be a year....hardly upset. Hell, I'd prefer a year to 10-12 games.

But my reply was to someone who said only Browns' fans will complain and you say that is false.....though still tried to argue with me as Argue the Poster and not the Post boy.

Well done.

As usual you take things out of context and twist and turn them at every point.

Hell you played the field. You had him not getting suspended to a year. Well done Nostradamus. Tough to be wrong with such bold predictions.

BTW I was one of the posters saying only Brown fans would be upset. Which is true. Others may have been upset with the process. Brownie fans will pull the whoa is me it's unfair card.

Yes, and maybe you will get this at some point (you wont). I said nothing to a year could be the right call as I don't know all the details nor do I have an agenda. I did guess that it would be 6-8 games. Do I have to say I know when I don't? Even those taking victory laps (despite the case not over) didn't have a clue how it would go other than a guess.

any Browns fans here pulling the whoa is me it's unfair card? By claiming only Browns fans will be upset just lumps you into the wrong crowd should the NFLPA take the NFL to court over the ruling. Hell, if it's a year, there are at least 2 Browns fans here who'd rather see that than 10-12 games.

You took the field and still almost lost. You can stop with the tap dancing anytime.

All Brown fans will be upset. Just another year wasted with all that talent. All those contracts coming closer and closer to coming due.

Your upset, so are all other Brownie fans. Stop trying to put lipstick on that pig.

Virtually every pundit complained about the decision.

But if Browns fans (or others) argue contrary its because it's "woe is me" eh

I wonder if Watson is regretting not settling for something like a 10-12 game suspension or if that was even offered to him several months ago. Now he risks sitting out a 2nd consecutive season and a fine.

I don't know that virtually every pundit complained.

Some complained it was too light. Others not harsh enough while others thought the NFL shouldn't be involved in a civil matter.

Now onto many a Brown fans. They pretty much fell into those same three catagories. Those other then the ones thinking it was too light are playing the poly anna card.

Can't blame them a $230M QB that likely won't have played in two years. The window closing rapidly on all those 1st round picks they've selected over the past 2-4 years.

Yes upset and salty and no one blames them.

Almost like the Arron Hernandez fiasco effected NE fans. The Pats had two legit TEs. BB bringing back the two TE set. All gone because AH was a psychopath.

It happens.
