what happened in college. Why would you get suspended in the NFL? Dont understand that.
Hell the Eagle that had insider trading or whatever that was. Also trying to figure out why the NFL got involved. Pretty sure that was non violent as well.

Terell Pryor would've served his 5 games but left college to go to the pros.

It wasn't just free tats. Dude got like 12 speeding tickets in 12 different cars.. I don't recall anything about him having to serve that suspension in the nfl. But he also was a shitty nfl qb and had 2 decent years as a Wr.

Brady was suspended for violating the CBA when it comes to interfering in an NFL investigation.
No he wasn't.

He was suspended for "at least generally being aware of the inappropriate activities"

Conduct detrimental to the integrity of the league.

Which could be as silly as calling Czar Goodell mom a moron. There is no defined definition of what that actually means. The Czar has the power to do that. Not as easy now after the new CBA but he still has final say.

Goodell is going to sign off on this punishment. The difference between 6 and 10 games in this one case is not worth the fight that would happen should he try and tack on more to this punishment.
Well it may be worth it in the court of public opinion? Especially the female population. The NFL is a money making machine. You could see how they attracted more female fans when they started a collection of womens apparel.

I have never gone to a massage place where happy endings are a thing, but IF I ever do, I'm more likely leaving with a SMILE.
Or at least demand a refund.

It's tip toeing if not outright stomping on the settlement by having Ashley appear before a group to discuss Deshaun Watson
Not really that at all from a legal perspective (depending on the exact language in the agreement). All that matters is what she says. She can probably give her opinion on the suspension but not legal charges and things like how she is doing and the such. She likely just can't talk specifics about what he was accused of, specifics about their sessions (not just the criminal part but everything like scheduling, where they met, etc) and what the settlement was.

I think they should trot all 30 of them out there. Let the public see their faces and remind them of what he did and put pressure on Goodell to add a couple of games to the suspension. I think he should increase the 6 games to 8 or maybe 10. I'd go with 8 to not stray too far from Judge Robinson's decision. But regardless of the impact on the suspension, Watson deserves this thrown in his face at every turn until he shows some remorse and admits publicly what he did. He's a scum bag and deserves what he gets.

edit: Also, it's not just about Watson, it's about setting a precedent for future egregious cases to make sure they are not judged the same as where there are one or two victims.

While I think pretty much everyone feels he deserves a longer suspension (and probably much longer) I disagree with Goodell "significantly" increasing it. I think if you do that you expose how ridiculous the whole process is and I don't think you want to do that on Judge Robinson's first case. The illusion of a fair hearing goes completely out the window if you do that IMO

I think it ends up with 12.

I think it ends up with a fine....not sure how much, but I think the NFL has to, at least, go for a few more games and get some of the "untouched" money to show they are serious about women.

All the people who are stating it's not worth the "fight" - there isn't a fight to be won by the NFLPA. The CBA clearly spells it out, if the arbiter leverages any punishment/suspension - the NFL can appeal, and that appeal is heard by Roger Goodell, who has the final authority to leverage additional fines/suspensions as he sees fit.

They all agreed to this CBA and signed off on it. They can kick and scream all they want, but it won't do them a damn bit of good.
You are correct about the regs but have missed one thing.
It is likely that Goodell has talked to Ross ahead of the announcement, since he is Goodell's boss and all......

Tough call for both Rog/NFL and Watson. Well, easy call for watson now to just sit on his hands and do nothing. But if the NFL appeals, which means Rog adds to the suspension? sure, can go to court and then likely play this season....but will he risk being suspended next year and losing part of his $46 mil as opposed to a mil?

For the NFL do they bow to current public pressure as opposed to getting ripped later for making the hearings a sham (and possibly having to go to a real court)?
