Injuries and James Harden going to give DOC more cover again??

Doc might be the luckiest coach ever if the bad game of Harden becomes the storyline again.

Some of the blame has to go to him if players don't perform to the expectations.

Doc has had Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Joel Embid, Jimmy Butler, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Ben Simmons, Paul George......and countless other high quality near star proven veteran players.

He has not made it past the 2nd round in 10 years while coaching all of these superstars.

Doc is basically Rick Carlisle, but with a hell of a lot more talented rosters than Carlisle.
one of the most overrated coaches in all of professional sports. he's been riding that lone NBA championship from 2007-08 for the last 14 years now. my brother's cat could've coached that celtics team to a championship.

Hey does anyone remember who said they could stand toe to toe with PJ Tucker in a fight a couple of days ago?

That was some funny stuff.

And you wonder why you get clowned on here so much. A guy wants to do nothing but win, wants his teammates to want to win is badly as he does and you say that he's the cancer because you don't like him and you don't like the team he plays on.

Nice job. Maybe stick to junior high girls basketball takes there Aqualung.
If you’ve paid attention over the years I live near Chicago and hated him when he was here as well.

Harden added to his playoff legacy last night. Yet another bad game for him.
And it’s not just the results, it’s how disinterested he is. Anyone that gives him a long term is messing up.

Congrats to the Heat, they were clearly the better team. As long as they win game 1, I think they will win the next round as well.

A cancer in Chicago? Meh, he was starting to evolve and learn how to be a leader.
Minny? That organization was a mess at the time, they had talent.
Philly? Well Ben is gone now, we saw who the real cancer was there. I think Jimmy and Embiid would have been nasty. It's too bad that didn't workout but too bad they didn't trade Ben before.

You could say cancer in Minny and that's it but like I said the organization was a mess.

I think Jimmy has proven time and time again hes not a cancer. And hes far more an answer/solution than any sort of problem.

Is he flawed? Absolutely. Part of it will always be on him since he too cant adapt to other personalities.

But its impossible to call a guy who simply wants to push his teammates to work hard a cancer, especially when the teams hes played for have always been better than they were before/after he arrived/left.

Also, its not like the guy is some hypocrite. He doesnt get on KAT for playing video games while gaming himself. The dude is in the gym at 5 am.

He just cant lead all personality types. But if its a hardworking group, follow his lead. He will get ya places.

And? What does that have to do with your inability to look at players and teams you don't like with any objectivity?

What's gonna hurt the 76ers is their GM. You know Morey will give strip club James a max deal.

That is exactly it. The bold.

We've all seen guys have bad games. We've all seen guys decline. You don't often see guys look completely disinterested in the game they were playing in while actually playing in the game. In an elimination game in the playoffs, no less. How do you not fire every bullet you've got?

Rumor going around here in Philly this morning that Doc “survives” and gets another season. I’m a weird sort of way this in encouraging. One scenario of Doc Out is the idea that they’re doubling down on Harden and bringing in Dantoni. The fact that it doesn’t look like that is happening could be a sign that Morey isn’t Star struck by his boy Harden and he’s not going to chase bad money.

And then after the game he talks about still wanting to build a championship team but they need more pieces. That’s Harden in a nutshell, as long as he can get his in the flow of the game without working too hard great, but if he has to fight for it screw that. If I’m Philly I can’t do anything about him opting in, but if he doesn’t show up in better shape than he has in 5 years or so I’m telling him he can forget about a long term contract.

It's a bit of that Kobe mentality. Work hard and hold up your end or get out of the way.

Yeah, I'd say the Sixers should trade him...but I'm not sure he has much more value than Westbrook right now.

He has no value at 47 million. If he should opt out and take something reasonable like 15-20 mil in a sign and trade, that could work. But I’m typing this through laughter at the thought that Harden would settle for that instead of taking 47 million and a chance he can rehabilitate his contractual value in a contract year.

Who has more re-trade value at this point? Harden or Simmons (after sitting out a year and back surgery)?

The phrase “wants to win” is the most overused cliche in the book. No one “wants to lose”. If anything it shows what a frontrunner he is that unless he’s on a top tier seed, he’ll dog his teammates an organization regardless of cost. Great player, but a cancer is a cancer regardless of my team preferences, and things ended poorly in each of his first three stops.

I’ll give him more credit than Westbrook, but at the end of the day, any $47 million expiring contract is not as tradeable as many assume it is.

And this is why you should stick to junior high school girls basketball.

Not all players have the same drive to win. Some are just happy to make a lot of money playing basketball.
