Nope. Zero expectations. If they dropped a game it was no big deal. They were never going to be good enough to climb into the top 3 and the West was so bad they weren’t going to drop out of the play in territory. Pressure doesn’t come when from the first tip of the season everyone is handing out mulligans because you’re missing guys.
But it's not an uphill battle when Douchmond gets more respect from the refs for his defense (and his mouth) than what Joker gets for his offense?

Jokic doesn't get 'respect from the refs' for his offense? What does that even mean?

Compare Embiid's FT attempts per game to Jokic's and I rest my case.
Totally different styles of play. I'd say you know this, but it's becoming clear you don't know shit about the NBA.

Jokic just got another MVP so not sure where you see the disrespect.

Pure athleticism is apparently more susceptible to foul calls, and respect from MVP voters and respect from officials is not the same thing.

Never was one. Joel is the most important athlete in the world and the league hates Sam Hinkie's Beautiful Process.
:Cry::Cry::Cry:

Sure, let's sit here and pretend the MVP voters give a rat's ass about a GM that's been out of the league for six years now.

You have to move quickly to get foul calls. It’s also harder to draw foul calls playing 20 feet away from the basket.

Yes it's efficient for stat prduction which is fantasy basketball not real basketball. You should want to learn the difference, but you don't have it in you. No desire to get better. No heart to learn from your betters.
see if you can understand this. scoring a lot while missing a lot of shots is, in fact, not efficient. Also doesn't help much if the team isn't very good or when you are on the court and/or you lose a lot of games.

But, please continue to compare MCW with Jokic.

On the radio today they were talking about NBA MVPs, and past snubs and voter fatigue and so on. One of the most egregious is Derrick Rose winning over LeBron in 2011. LeBron was better in pretty much EVERY stat, and not by fractions but significantly better. It's never been a perfect process.

It’s pretty clear we are there again. This one will be questioned forever. MVP no longer has anything to do with legacy when Jokic and Nash have more MVPs than Kobe Shaq KD Hakeem etc…

They voted someone back-to-back with voter fatigue? Difference between Jokic/Embiid same as Lebron/Rose?

Yeah he's too in his feels on this, for obvious reasons. Jokic and Embiid are much closer this year than Lebron and Rose were.

But that said, he's not wrong about Nash and Jokic vs Kobe/Shaq/Hakeem/KD. But that's sports sometimes, same thing as Barkley and Malone and Ewing and CP3 and other greats not having rings and other lesser players having many. There's only one MVP every year, and there are always many who deserve it.

He's not wrong in that Embiid certainly a more than worthy candidate and can make a strong case for him. But, hell, voter fatigue would favor Embiid winning over Jokic. This year, if you wanted to give it to the best AND deserving/valuable player it would go to Giannis IMO.

Right, I said above Giannis should be on his 4th in a row. That's voter fatigue.

Yes.....Giannis, Lebron and KD probably could have won nearly all of them the last decade or so.
Curry's second one was legit. His numbers that year were cheat code level and his team won 73 games

Just another example of a fugazi vote. Do they have to be identical to be a poor vote?

don't want to break it to ya, but voting Jokic over Embiid more than justifiable this season. The true MVP/best player this season is probably Giannis.
