ts why I want to trade down. Lloyd can come in and start at pick#11. I doubt Hamilton will be there at #11. Im just hoping A QB falls so we get more draft picks. Duke if our team is so bad, who at pick #11 will come in a make an immediate impact?

I agree that it's not easy to find that guy at QB, but why be a dumb-ass and publicly over promise for two years in a row?

The efforts to get Stafford, and Wilson are laughable because they didn't factor the organization in as part of their offer, and this called for a significant overpay which ironically they weren't willing to do because of their nature. Note that they don't want to trade up for the same dumb-ass perspective on the organization and themselves.

So what does this overpay look like? The hell if I know, but this is Washington Commanders football, you ABSOLUTELY HAVE to know that you've earned that stupid tax.

I would love a trade down as well. Hamilton would be fantastic but I doubt he is there. I do hope that there is a run on QBs and we can then take the best offer from a team that is in love with a QB.

Our team is bad. The numbers don't lie. As proven, we were 23rd in offense and 25th in defense. Not sure how you read that but to me, we are bad. Yes, we did have injuries. However, so did other teams. Our offense was hit very hard obviously (Rouiller, Thomas, Samuel, McKissic). However, we had those same players minus Samuel in 2020, and still had a terrible offense.

I would trade down as my 1st choice. If we cannot, you take the BPA at a position of need. In order, positions of need to me are:
MLB
WR
OL (Guard)
CB

I think its laughable that you didn't mention the injures and covid inactives last year when making your comparisons. RR was a former COACH OF THE YEAR, so of course he is going to want his guys on the team. Evey coach does that. Scott Turner is a new o-coordinator i will give you that. We don't really know how he will play out. Comparing Maunsky to JDR to just crazy. Not even going to get into that.
I clearly stated we had injuries, but I am not the type of fan who has a quick excuse for everything. Our offensive output was roughly the same as 2020 without those key injuries. I already proved this. This fan base makes themselves feel better with a handful of excuses each year. Injuries are always part of the game.

Rivera was coach of the year seven years ago back in 2015. The league has obviously changed since then. Rivera's problem is that he is not making upgrades to his staff after the same losing record in back-to-back years. That is troubling.

Turner is not new anymore. He is on year three and continues to lead an offense in the bottom1/4 of the league. What has he proven to you?

I said JDR was a better DC. However, the numbers aren't really reflecting that the past 2 years. You can look up the data yourself.

Samuel was playing hurt everyone knows that. JD is the perfect change of pace back. He can play every down and is a threat for any defense. You can put Samuel in the slot and Brown/Sims on the outside with Terry. We are having losing seasons b/c we have no QB. The oline is the same as last year except we traded Scherrff for Norwell and W.Schitz for Flowers is a wash. As far as STARTERS are concerned, we are set except for MLB. It's not all doom and gloom.
I said Samuel was injured. He still played in 5 games though and I was stating a fact. Hopefully, he returns to his 2019 and 2020 self. We don't know if he will.

JD is a 3rd down back only. He is not big enough to be a true #2 back. He only weighs 195 pounds, which is small for a true running back. I showed his career numbers over 6 years. They are not good. He excels at catching out of the backfield and draw plays on 3rd down. He is not effective in running between the tackles. He clearly is not an every-down back. I am not sure how many games you are watching or if you are familiar with typical starting RBs in the league. McKissic does not fit that mold.

Here are the top 7 rushers from 2021:

Jonathan Taylor = 226 lbs
Nick Chubb = 227 lbs
Joe Mixon = 220 lbs
Najee Harris = 232 lbs
Dalvin Cook = 210 lbs
Antonio Gibson = 220 lbs
E. Elliot = 220 lbs

Do you see the trend here? These are bigger backs who can take the pounding of getting hit repeatedly at the line of scrimmage. They are younger and with more weight than McKissic as well.

I agree that Samuel should go to the slot. However, putting Brown/Sims outside of McLaurin would be a disaster. Neither of these players show any evidence of being a #2 WR in the league. Brown is not a bust just yet, but he had a terrible rookie year and struggled. He played in 15 games and only grabbed 12 passes total. For being a 3rd round pick, this is highly disappointing.

Cam Sims has 49 catches for 700 yards in 3 seasons. Those numbers combined are roughly what a #2 would put up. He is a mediocre player at best. What makes you think that year 4 will be his breakout year? Combing the numbers of Sims/Brown, you only have 61 total career catches between them. This would be an awful mistake to go this route.

Scherff is a 5 time Pro Bowler while Norwell has never even made one Pro Bowl. It's a steep drop-off. Not sure how anyone can say it's a wash.
We are set for starters, which is unsettling. This is not a good team. We are bringing back the same players outside of the QB spot, who led us to back to back losing seasons. We have the same coaches who cannot coach as well.

I continue to show you statistics that back up these facts. If the data is wrong, please show what is wrong. If you are going to ignore facts, then there is no need to respond as we are simply going around in circles here.

we need weapons for wince
I agree.

A vertical threat TE would be nice to pair with Bates (more short-yardage/blocking) at this point in his career. Thomas is coming off a major injury and is on the wrong side of 30. I would love to pick up a TE in the 2nd if we trade back and secure more picks. Thomas won't be back until mid-October.

I would like a #2 with some height. Maybe Burks or Watson? We need some more healthy talent out there. McLaurin is simply all we have right now.

You are taking stats from an offense with bad QB play the last two years. What does that have to do with this year?

My guess is Wagner has an offer, just not at the amount he wants. Why give him $11 mill if no one else wants to.

I am good with Holcomb at MLB. They need someone to play the role Collins played last year after getting moved. Todays football is mostly 4-2-5;

If Holcomb can play Mike what about signing LB Barr from Minn. This guy can do it all when healthy.

That is correct. 2022 will have the following:

-Starting TE out until mid-October. Thomas is scheduled to miss at least 6 games if his recovery is on track
-The OLine has taken a step back with respect to starting Guards

I realize that Dean is the only person on this board who has faith in Wentz. His career numbers do not provide any reason for hope. Why the word "franchise" continues to be mentioned is laughable. A QB who has a career 62% completion percentage is NOT a franchise QB.

I can take all the hate. We will be better stat wise on both sides of the ball and in the win column. I see 10 wins with our schedule. Only playing two super star Qb's this year and it could be one if Watson is suspended. Yes, I don't think Dak is a superstar QB
