So you have nothing to back your claims up. But insist half of the league's on something. That doesn't make alotta sense.

I'm not saying all players are clean, that would be an incorrect thing to say. There's no doubt some cheat the system.

But without any type of proof I can't say this player or that player's on something.

TB12's the only NFLer that's gotten better after the age of 35. Does that mean he's on something?
Insist? Whose insisting?
I'm telling you what I think.

So you think half the league's on something (comment # 34) but have nothing to back it up? Okay to each their own.

A - Beerfest is HIGHLY underrated as a movie.

B - I'm sure there are some guys on stuff, but when you look around now - you have guys from the time they are 13-14 lifting, eating, taking protein, looking into the science - hell, H.S. have programs that have trainers with exercise science backgrounds. It's not uncommon here in Cincinnati, which boasts some of the best H.S. football (State-wise, and City-wise) in the nation.

Then you get into a big time College program - and that intensifies. Those who are lucky enough to make it to the final level at the NFL - basically have a full-time job of defining their bodies, and making sure they are in top shape. Now, there's a lot of other factors - work ethic, drive, genetics - all go into play - but considering where sports was at 50+ years ago, when some leagues had off-season that required jobs through today's sports - which are year round jobs, paid millions - and have the ability to hire the best trainers, chefs, nutritionistI mean, it's no shock that players are bigger, stronger, faster than ever before - even if they are 100% clean.

What we do see, though as an aside, is an increased rate of injury. The body gets bigger, stronger, faster, but joints, tendons, and bones don't keep up the same way muscles do. Combine that with the overuse in today's (going back about 20 years) select leagues for all sports - and it's also no surprise that more and more players see injuries today when compared to 35-40 years ago - when most kids didn't play in year around sports, or played multiples sports rather than specializing at a young age. Again - another topic for another day.

Well, you can also be a pitcher and be fat...pitching, especially in the AL, doesn't require any running or hitting, and very little fielding is expected...LOL

Bartolo, CC, and Wells are my HOF group of Fat pitchers - I model my mid 40's athletic career after those guys...LOL

If Bartolo walked off the mound, and cracked open a beer and ate a hoagy in the dugout - would anyone even bat an eye? He would then go back out there and strike out the side, too...with marinara sauce on his face.

I love that dude.

And then walk over to the Rec softball league game across the street and hit a 400' bomb over the center field fence

Can't remember now, who it was, but I think it was Heyworth (From the Phillies?) when he retired he went to a softball league - there are videos of him just absolutely crushing bombs....LOL

I mean, could you imagine someone like Adam Dunn just showing up in a rec league and going 6-6 with 6 bombs while chuggin beers? LOL

One of the best softball shortstops ever was Doug Flynn
