That or the other owners saw that Snyder could still earn for them and the 1 thing that won't stand when it comes to filthy rich folk is someone fuclkin with their money. Snyder needed 24 of the 31 other owners to waive a 450 million debt he had incurred which he got. That in turn allowed him to buy out the 3 minority owners of the Skins franchise. Who all went to court to get an injunction that would've allowed them to sell their shares in the team to whoever. Snyder naturally wanted those shares for himself which came to 40.5% of the team in total. Getting the 450 million waiver from then other owners made it possible for Snyder to buy all 40.5% of said shares to the tune of 875 million dollars. Once he did that Snyder along with a couple of his immediate family memnbers, his wife among them, became the sole owners of the Skins franchise.

All this was taking place while the NFL was 'investigating;' Snyder. The owners put a woman, can't remember her name at this time, in charge of overseeing that investigation. At some point, either the owners had someone call her to ask if she had concluded her investigation. Or she called someone to inform the owners she had concluded it. And all that was left was to put it all down in a written report to present to the owners. She was then instructed to write nothing down and anything that she already written down, notes etc were to be destroyed.. That she would present her findings to the owners in an oral manner.

And that was that.

You make a good point. The guys the owners hate are people like the Spanos family that can't handle their fucking business and build stadiums and get them paid.

"We have had communications with the league, and the NFLPA plans to request that the NFL release the rest of the emails," NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith told USA Today Sports in a phone interview.

NFLPA spokesperson George Atallah confirmed to ESPN's Dan Graziano that the union planned to request the emails. An NFL spokesperson told USA Today that it had no plans to release those emails for confidentiality reasons.

"It is truly outrageous that after the NFL's 10-month long investigation involving hundreds of witnesses and 650,000 documents related to the longtime culture of harassment and abuse at the Washington Football Team, the only person to be held accountable and lose their job is the coach of the Las Vegas Raiders," lawyers Lisa Banks and Debra Katz said in a statement. "If the NFL felt it appropriate to release these offensive emails from Jon Gruden, which it obtained during its investigation into the Washington Football Team, it must also release the findings related to the actual target of that investigation. Our clients and the public at large deserve transparency and accountability. If not, the NFL and [commissioner] Roger Goodell must explain why they appear intent on protecting the Washington Football Team and owner Dan Snyder at all costs."

Actually it’s about as American as you can get. Looks to me like Gruden was victim of capitalism where if what he said causes the NFL lose sponsors because they don’t like that he is still employed then they just lost a big money deal.

To sum up, the goal in America is to make as much money as possible, if you do some thing that might hinder your business’ opportunity to do that, it seems like them firing you is very “American”

I don't disagree with your point as you stated it but come on. We have all said stupid shit in our lives. I have you have everyone has. Should we all quit our jobs tomorrow or should we just wait until we get caught?

My question is who exposed his words. That to me is the greatest offense.

I am glad that Gruden cancelled himself. It was the best pathway forward. Here's the good news: Gruden has a new drinking buddy. Her name is Hilary Rodham Clinton.

These things have a cumulative effect. NFL ratings are way up, no need to rock the boat.

Just as a reminder who you were 10 years ago is who you still are today
Yep, especially when you made those comments in your 40s and 50s.

There's absolutely no defense of Chucky. It is not just one or two off-color jokes, it's a whole slate of nasty things spoken. The fact that Gruden just rolled over and quit off the bat, tells you everything you need to know.
