12tm, half ppr, QB/ 2x RB / 2x WR / 2x Flex / DL / LB / DB (pretty tackle heavy format)
picked from the 12 slot, still kicking myself for taking Woods over Kyler in rd 4, but that gave me some leeway in not feeling pressured into taking one of the hug mass of WR2/3 types in rounds 5-8.
Missed out on TE...Kelce went at pick 1.09, Waller and Kittle were gone before my pick at 3.12/4.1, then MAndrews and Hock were gone at the 5.12/6.1 turn...maybe Mac will rely on TE to get acclimated to the league with an uninspiring WR group in NWE.

Ready to pull the plug on Hurts if he's not looking great, still a handful of good QB2s with upside like Winston, Fitzpatrick, Z Wilson available. Feel like Fuller/Pollard at the 11/12 turn were both great steals for how late in the draft.

Hurts
Ekeler, Montgomery, Henderson, Javonte, Pollard, JJackson
Diggs, Woods, Callaway, Fuller, E Moore
D Leonard, Chinn, Okwara

(Okwara was the 6th highest scoring DL in this format last year, pretty sure its fairly tackle heavy, which plummets value of all DL)

I have another draft this week, I'll just use this same thread.

As always, please send any comments my way regarding strategy/how you'd attack the season from here with this starting squad.

Like this squad.

I wouldn’t feel the need to carry Justin Jackson, even with Ekeler.

Might want to add TE options instead, though like you said, Jonnu can play…up to Jones.

Assuming you’re not worried about QB2.

I have to warn you that I have seen Jeremy Chinn listed as a LB in some rankings throughout the summer. I know he was compared to guys like Barron and Buchanen who have made the switch. Maybe they were considering it this offseason or something, but it is worth mentioning so you are not caught off guard if they were to change his position.

Assuming you’re not worried about QB2.

I rarely backup QB in 1QB leagues, would rather have RBs in those bench slots and wait to see who pops off waivers and if they're worth upgrading what I have already.

Nice draft but I got to note that it isn't the typical Smoking Monkey kind of draft I'm use to. Likely because it's a redraft rather then dynasty.

I definitely lean RB-heavier in redraft vs dynasty, and put a bit more stock into actual opportunity vs what I perceive to be talent level. Getting rid of K and adding a flex spot pushed me to wanting 4 RBs within my first 8 picks. I'll easily find flex-worthy WRs to play behind Diggs/Woods as the season progresses.

for my draft tomorrow night, I'm really debating going after a top tier QB and TE, so I have to pull the trigger on both within the first 5 rounds.

I pick 6th in that one, so top RB is a slam dunk, I'm guaranteed to get Henry/Zeke/Jones, whichever falls after CMC/Cook/Kamara. That should put me in a primo spot to nab either Ridley or Diggs in round 2, and potentially Waller or Kittle in rd 3....wishful thinking, I know, but we'll see.
