(throws up in mouth)

There are far cheaper options to improve wing defense than a max contract player that refuses to shoot.

Hence the use of the terms "not advocating going after, especially at that price", "wouldn't be a priority target" and "contingency plan if they don't like how things are going".

If Rob Pelinka is remotely like Kobe described him, he likely has plans, contingency plans and contingency plans for his contingency plans. It's likely there are all kinds of different plans and ideas among those...the vast majority of which will never be seriously discussed. Which ones are, would depend on how things are going.

Obviously, the chances that it actually happens are very low, but he does several things at an elite level, some of which the Lakers could actually use.

I thought about this, but would WAS really want Westbrook and Simmons??????
How does one rationalize that if you're a WAS fan?????

Younger player with more upside on a team not close to winning.

I would want more for Beal today, but fit doesn’t concern me too much as a Wizards fan today.

I want to get a couple players with star potential to build around.

Not sure Simmons is that guy, but he has a better chance to be than Beal or Russ, IMO.

Is Doc Rivers ever going to get blamed for his team failures or will we continue acting like he's good at his job?

He seems to be rated appropriately here since most seem to think he's overrated...but yeah, the media sure seems to think he's something special.

We have been ragging him pretty hard here. You mean in the press?

Another move the Sixers need to do is to get rid of Dwight Howard. That guy has the worst hands and timing of any big man i've ever seen. For every one thing he does right, he does ten other things wrong.

One other thing that was killing the Sixers was Shake Milton. He had the one good game and then thought he was Michael Jordan after that. Everytime he touched the ball he would do his fancy dribble routine and shoot. Mostly bad shots too.

All things said, it was a tragic series for Philly. In no way should a team with Embid, Simmons, Harris, and Curry lose to a team with Tre Young and a bunch of role players.

The Hawks had some key guys injured, too...

... this was a thunderous defeat.

Good lord, the postmortem on this Sixers season locally is painful. It’s not stop venting over how a player as gifted as Simmons can be such a colossal pussy. I have to say though, a player hiding from getting the ball is a rec league issue. But for some reason Philly fans have to confront this reality with an NBA max player.

I don't think the latter is a fair statement but yes the Sixers are more talented. Curry is not better than some of the guys Atlanta has

Some truth to it though. You definitely keep Embiid however. His skillset is much less replaceable.

But...because of his history having a team built around Embiid is more like having a team built around a 32/33 year old instead of a 27 year old. Clock is ticking.

Howard and Milton both gave the team good minutes in the regular season, then just totally dropped off near the end of the season and became big liabilities.

Philly needs some better players at the 5 and 4 slots because when Embiid leaves the floor, suddenly they get very small.

But haven't more and more people started looking at Doc with the side eye. I mean shit, Lue in his first season already got the Clippers into the conference finals and had to deal without having his best player for part of the 2nd round.

But I've been on the bandwagon that Rivers is an overrated coach for at least a few years now.
