Only the flopping is accurate and he's far from the only one
Dude what is your deal. 9 times out of 10 I agree with most of your takes on here, but heaven forbid someone disagrees about the fucking self appointed king and you become a complete asshole. And I agree, he isn't the only one. I hate flopping in any sport. How is the ring chasing false? That is his entire legacy. Maybe lack of heart was the wrong word, but he doesn't have that killer instinct, will punch his own mama in the mouth to win mentality that MJ and Kobe had.

It sounds like you're the one who gets pissy and cussy when someone disagrees with you. I don't care if you don't see Lebron's generational greatness for almost 2 decades. You're not alone in your opinions on him. But the ones who agree with me tend to be basketball observers who have proven chops and the haters are misinformed.

How is the ring chasing false?

So, I'm guessing then that you have the same opinion about the other players who have gone "ring chasing"? Kevin Durant, for example, left OKC to go to the defending champion that beat his team in the conference finals the season before. When did Lebron ever join a defending champ?

And between Lebron, MJ and Kobe...care to guess who has hit a higher percentage of "clutch shots"?

I agree with you completely...KD was just as gutless as anyone before him for that move.

I think part of the problem, and this where the basketball observer thing comes into play, is people wanting to compare him the MJ and Kobe when they should be comparing him to Magic.

The difference is you didn't disagree with me. I stated Lebron wasn't in my top 5 then you and the other three went on to insult my basketball knowledge and personally attack me. That is when I got pissy and cussy. A simple discussion and I'm down, I'm always up for a debate. But you took the low road.

But honestly every debate on every radio show, tv show, pre game, post game whatever ends up being MJ vs Lebron. So its kinda been ingrained in us for that to be the big debate at this point.

While I understand why people feel that way, I don't agree.

Question: Have you ever left a job to go take a better job with another company?

I get the comparison, and for KD himself, hell yeah, who wouldn't take that job. But you gotta admit the optics of it looked horrible. It was the ole, if you can't beat em, join em, come to life right in front of us.

Yeah, that's how big MJ's shadow is. Lebron's game has always favored Magic far more than MJ or Kobe. I understand the comparison from the standpoint that most consider MJ the GOAT...so when a player is good enough to be in that conversation, the comparison is always going to come down to MJ, even if it doesn't really fit.

Basketball is the weird one to compare greats. Even same position could be completely different styles. PG's you have Magic, Stockton and those guys, the ultimate teammates. Assists gods. You have PG's like Steph and Russ, scoring machines.

I agree on the optics. My point is that players like Lebron, KD, etc. get criticized for "ring chasing", yet they are just moving on to a better job. Something the rest of us do without really a second thought.

The only time I have an issue with a player is when he forces his way out. Even then, it depends on how he does it. For example, Harden forcing his way out of Houston by showing up out of shape and giving little effort on the court was no bueno.

But a player letting his team know prior to the end of his contract, that he won't be re-signing with them so they have a chance to trade him rather than watch him walk and get nothing in return, is fine.

I think the disconnect is most people as fans don't think of them as working people just doing a job. Like a business man switching to a higher paying company. Most celebrity jobs are hard to think of them as jobs.

Yeah, I've been watching professional sports since 1970. Of all of the sports, basketball has evolved the and changed the most and it's not really close. That's why when it comes to "GOAT" convos, I prefer to go with era's rather than all time. But, as fans, we pretty much go with all time.

I think the other negative with Lebron was having that ESPN special simply to change teams and making it a whole look at me thing where as most guys just get a blurb on the running tracker at the bottom of Sportscenter. Take Tom Brady for example. Arguably the biggest free agent in any sports in years. A simple 3 minute story on sportscenter. No hour long special and SportsHoopla.

Agree. Plus, let's face it. As fans we invest a certain amount of emotion into our teams. So, when a player leaves, he's not just leaving the team...he's leaving us.

My favorite way to argue it is to make your all time starting five. But that is just my preference. But my favorite starting five is probably way different than the actual greatest starting five.

Yeah, I've been very critical of Lebron for that and that's the image most have of him still. To be fair, he was young and since then has said that if he had it to do over again, he wouldn't have done it that way. It gave the appearance that he thought he was bigger than the game. Since then he's done it the same way everyone else does.
