Adams to Seahawks smells a lot like the Jets BUYING LeVeon Bell.

Did Seattle just release the Jets from the curse?

The Le'Veon Bell signing might've been one of the stupidest signings last year. One of the times where I heavily disagreed with WalterFootball who for some reason has a hard on for Sam Darnold.

Le'Veon is on 'mail it in mode'. He went from a HOF QB, WR (well, Brown was on track, but Schuster still is), and OL members to an absolutely abysmal situation with Gase as one of the biggest buffoons in the league. No shit he's going to mail it in, I would.

The Jets are still cursed. And what did they get from Seattle? Likely two LATE 1st round picks, a safety that regressed massively and was torched routinely in 2019.... and gave up an all pro and quite possibly the best safety in the league. LOL Sam Darnold should retire now.

but at least the Jets got an extra 1st round pick to waste on replacing their RB. :D

Bell took for granted that he was set up on in a very ideal situation for him to be successful. I was definitely wrong about him being able to produce in New York.

Believe what you want, but IMO if Bell went into this off season with a non guaranteed contract he would have been an obvious cut, and he'd be in a similar situation to Devonta Freeman/Todd Gurley unsigned an in a poor FA RB market

scenario 1 what if good
2018 Bell signs tag 14.5 million
2019 Tagged again or FA - Best case the Steelers let him walk and he signs that Jets contract 42.5 million over 3 years
2020 ?

scenario 2 what if bad
2018 Signs the late season Steelers offer 10 million guaranteed, but the steelers control his destiny with no real guaranties going forward
2019 Steelers 11.5 million guaranteed at the start of the league year or possibly cut
2020 Steelers 12 million guaranteed at the start of the league year or possibly cut - He likely gets cut and if he's lucky if he gets a Todd Gurley deal somewhere 26.5? million over 3 years

scenario 3 what happened
2018 Holds out
2019 Jets 14 million
2020 Jets 14 million - a year off and 28 million over 3 seasons
2021 Obvious cut and will be lucky to get 2.5 million guarantied

Say what you want about Bell but he did the right thing in handling things the way he did and he was lucky that the Jets paid him. In 2017 he touched the ball 400 times the steelers were definitely trying to use him until he had nothing more to give. I don't blame the steelers for doing that its better to get what they can and dump him when he gets closer to 30. Bell wasn't going to let that happen so holding out and forgoing his salary looking for something more secure is something any human would do.

I wonder if Derrick Henry will do something similar after next season if the Titans try to franchise him again and not give him anything long term.

Next time he gets suspended, Sparty needs to make him an honorary Captain again.
