I agree, it would set us back, And let me make this clear, I absolutely love Russ as our QB, he’s been the best QB in our team history by far... When you say no amount of pics will be worth it all depends on whether 1, if Russ still wants to play here, and 2, how many pics you get and what players you might get initially... Obviously we’d need a QB right away.... He’s most likely not going anywhere, but if there is any indication he doesn’t want to be here anymore, Seahawks would be smart to move on it, because he’s a hot item that teams would give a fortune for ... We wait and he’s not happy down the road we won’t get any return ...

Well it makes sense that he's worth more now then later, but think it's a lot harder to get the return fans envision. The Stafford trade seems more of a fluke to me. You can bet the Texans have been receiving offers for Watson and have yet to see one that makes football sense based on the money they have to eat ( Seahawks also would have to swallow a huge amount) the cap hit ( same for Seahawks) and the fact he's their MVP ( same as the Seahawks). Course fans think it should be easy to get 3 1st round picks plus plus for a player of that caliber, but most teams feel that's plum out of their price range. Fantasty meets reality kind of thing.

The odds of drafting a QB who can carry your franchise is incredibly low. Russ has shown no proof that he wants out. He only wants in on dec making but that’s a whole other argument. Pete needs to go before Russ

The decision making thing should have been a closed door meeting with Pete and John, you don’t tell the press that .... That’s why my gut say’s he’s trying to get 1 foot out the door, you know Pete and John aren’t gonna take that kindly .... I don’t know man, my gut usually doesn’t lie, Russ NEVER does stuff like this... Gonna be interesting to see how this play’s out ...

What is the cap hit after June 1st. ? Doesn’t it get much smaller then ?

I think you are reading way too much into the media narrative on this, I don’t think it’s as big of a deal as the media is making it.

Honestly I don't think Pete leaving fixes much TBH. The part about having a say is window dressing for the real problems IMO. Mostly think the situation of tight cap, no great picks, and no easy way to make the roster better is the REAL problem. It's not like the Seahawks don't listen to his input, because they do, they have sign players that RW wanted signed ( and they didn't work out for spit). It's not like the Seahawks haven't tried to improve the OL it just hasn''t worked out. I don't think RW feels he's better at judging college OL or wants to study reams of video finding one. I don't think he wants to give up any money either ( don't blame him) to create cap space. Seahawks been known as a run team, yet they now pass more often then run the ball, which makes it that much harder to protect the QB.
Actually these unhappy players want to have their cake and eat it at the same time and fans should take their gripes with a grain of salt.

He said he gets hit too much which goes beyond the "We need to get better, I need to get better" line he usually goes with.

Even though I believe it was a very mild but very intentional dig at the Carroll and the front office it's still a jab at the offensive line and that's a no no for a QB to say in public.

Yeah he can tack on the I need to get better part but that's like saying "I think you're hideous looking but I'm not all the great looking either." You're still calling someone hideous.

In general it's taboo to call out a specific player or position group in public and if you call out a position group it needs to be the one you're in.

It's a weak enough jab to where he might get a couple of sideways looks in the locker room but it's not going to cause a major player revolt against him either.

He does get hit too much, some of that is on him some of that is on the oline. That’s a good point though the oline might not like what he said, but maybe that’s the slap in the face they need to play even at an average level.

The Seahawks like the Texans would be stupid to run decisions by him, he is a player, not a front office person.

But then who uses the system and knows what each player is good at because they are in the trenches together?

Seattle needs to trade Wilson for a couple O-Lineman and a few first round picks so they can draft an O-Line!!! And then Wilson will be protected!

...........

Wait......... uhh... wait a second hold on.. wait uh, I don't think I kn-

You do that behind close doors, NOT to the press, players and coaches get ticked over that ... He took little jabs at the coaching staff and O-line.... He can say whatever he wants at team meetings or in the locker room ... Also, our O-line has been better from years past, Russ needs to get ride of the ball sooner, he tends to extend play’s sometimes more than needed which puts pressure on our O-line .... Maybe one of the O-line players should go on talk radio and say Russ hangs onto the ball too long....

Better still doesn’t equal good, sure they’ve gone from worst in the league to below average. But none of them have earned the right to criticize anyone else on play as accurate as it might be. Also I highly doubt anyone is breaking down the barn door to interview one the olinemen.

I was just using it as an example, yeah no one is gonna interview the O-Lineman most likely ...

Depending on whose making the offer I wouldn't settle for less than 3 1st round picks unless players are involved if I'm Seattle.

You might take two 1sts and a 2nd if the Jets and Dolphins are calling because the 2nd and 3rd overall picks are so valuable but any other team it'd be 3 1st rounders.

But I'm not really giving up more than 3 1st rounders because Wilson is going to be 33 this year and he's taken a lot of hits so I'd be hard pressed to give up the farm for a guy that you're not quite sure how much more MVP level play you'll get out of him.
