I can't even blame Wilson that much even if he creates a lot of his own sacks with his playstyle.

QB's are starting to realize the amount of leverage they have and they aren't afraid to use it. Kind've interesting this keeps creeping into the media cycle every other damn year.

One has to ask again though, where would he want to go if he is earnest about the OL schtick and not just using that as an excuse to bail if this is true? Washington maybe? Indy?

Yeah, but what blame does Russell Wilson’s camp when Russ is responsible for at least 30% of those sacks because of his height. If trade Wilson and a 4th for Watson.

I think its a bit of a leap to suggest he wants a trade, like the tweet is implying and everyone is running with, from he's not happy about being sacked a lot. Plenty of QBs want their teams to add certain positions and it never grows to "trade me".

But if it is, there's really no reason for Seattle to trade him unless they've decided to blow it up. The only trade that would make any kind of sense for them is Watson. Anything else is a step down

He needs to get the ball out quicker. And they need to run routes where he can get the ball out quicker. But he isn't going anywhere. If anybody's hitting the road it's PC.

The Hawks actually were a top 15 blocking unit (according to PFF) this last season. They suffered numerous injuries when they had a few losses. Once they got healthy though they were pretty decent.

To me if a player starts complaining they're fed up with the coaching staff. Schottenheimer was obviously fired, but Russ may just be done with Carroll.

Washington, New England, and Indy all have good offensive lines and have the cap/capital to pull off a trade so my guess is he'd make a demand to go to any of those if a trade was gonna happen.

Carroll's still got this fantasy that the LOB willl reappear and Wilson is still a 24 year old Wilson with a young mans spring in his step who can extend plays at will.

It will be interesting to see how the Seahawks offense changes with a new OC. Supposedly the Rams had the highest percentage of 'max protect' offense in 2020 where both the TE and RB blocked or chipped. The Rams also ran a significant number of 5-wide plays using 11 formation personnel, (which they almost never did in the 3 previous years). Neither blocking scheme was particularly successful as the playbook was designed for standard 11 personnel formations, (with only the RB blocking). The Rams passing game regressed badly over the last 2 years with mostly the same players. Waldron will need to adapt the playbook if he's going to be successful in Seattle.

1 of the keys to the Rams defensive success in 2020 was prioritising outside contain from the edges over pure pressure or running stunts. Keeping mobile passers in the pocket paid huge dividends. It required players to sacrifice personal glory in a team role. (Floyd was awesome at that last year).

Wilson will have to become more of a pocket passer going forward. That will require more patient dinking and dunking. That hasn't been a strength for him. Seattle seems to prefer young, physical, mauling types at OL rather than less athletic but better technical blockers. I don't think that will work so well in a more sophisticated offense. I don't mean that as a slur. Seattle has been very successful with a power run, play-action for deep passes/chunk plays, and QB scrambling offense, but take away the scramble and it struggles.

I don't see Wilson moving on or causing problems but something, (other than QB or WRs), needs to change. Carroll doesn't seem like a 'change' HC and Waldron could well be just a newer, updated version of Schottenheimer. Waldron was the only Rams coaching loss I wasn't sad about.

I’m hearing teams are contacting Seattle and making offers, the fact that Seattle has no 1st round picks the next 2 seasons I can imagine it’s tempting for Pete and John.... It would take one helluva an offer for them to consider it ... I know Belichick would love to have him, he’s always liked Russ’s game, I wouldn’t be surprised if he reached out .... Also, Ciara is a Patriots fan, so she’d be pushing Russ in that direction ...

Non story because he's not going anywhere this season.

But I don't think Wilson and Carroll exactly are lock and step with each other these days either. Lie detector them both and I'd say Carroll isn't thrilled that he's paying a guy top dollar when he just wants a guy to hand the ball off and manage the game while Wilson isn't thrilled at Carroll's approach to offense and the inability to increase the talent level on that side of the ball as well.

My prediction is if Carroll is still around Wilson doesn't get another contract extension with the team and he'll look to unload Wilson for a massive haul of picks. So Wilson will be a Seahawk in 21 and 22 but I don't think he'll be one in 23.

We are not trading a HOF destined qb in his prime for some picks. No way. Most of the seahawks issues were on the defense this year. Thats where most of the problems with this team exists.

Not that I think RW is going anywhere but Rodgers isn't happy in GB.
