Early list of potential Rd 1 OTs to pay attention to:

Christian Darrisaw
Rashawn Slater
Sam Cosmi
Jalen Mayfield
Liam Eichenberg
Alex Leatherwood

I think any one of these names would be a day 1 starter at OT.

Considering it's Banner and Chuks, yeah, I don't think that's going to be hard for a high OT pick to start.

Seeing some buzz over Steelers fans wanting to trade for Matt Ryan now since the reports are coming in that he could be had for as little as a 2nd or 3rd Rd pick.

Cap issues aside, I'm not buyin it. Never been a fan of his. He has a good arm and decent mobility, but his pocket awareness is shit. Always has been. That said, he'd be an upgrade over Rudolph and would arguably put the Steelers back in contention.

Really want this to work out.
I would LOVE for this to work out if I could trust that JuJu, who is the VET in the WR room now FYI, can grow the fuck up. It's already rubbing off on Chase with his "Browns gonna get clapped" comment on Tik Tok. JuJu needs to grow up before he turns into a rerun of the AB debacle. A WR with an ego can't social media properly. Sound familiar? I think we should cut before it's too late. We sign him to a long extension and he doesn't grow up, we have created AB Jr. I don't think JuJu is ready to grow up so I don't like the thought of re-signing him. Not confident enough in his ability to shut up on social media and ball out on the field.

You would trade assets for Matt Ryan? The guy who had 1 good year and who's best years are behind him? You think he would be better than Ben playing one more year? For me, it's either keep Ben, trade for DeShaun or if Ben retires, Mason starts and let the rebuild begin. No Matt Ryan. No Matthew Stafford. No Sam Darnold. No Cam Newton. None of those question marks. I'm tired of a question mark at the QB position. Last year we had injuries and starting QBs with no real game experience and this year we had a QB under center that didn't seem fully comfortable every game and made some mistakes that I would expect Mason to make but it was a 16 year vet making those mistakes.

His contract is workable. There's an out after 2021 so it could be a 1-yr loaner at $23mil. Not bad at all.

2 more years on the contract after that... Hits of $23m & $28m.

35 years old and known for a decline in play... Definitely would have to be a 1 year bridge.

yeah , i mean, that would be the only way you go there, ben retires, and another one last hurrah right?

yes. Ben's arm is dead. trade for watson, right, not gonna happen, never would happen, and we don;t have the ammo.

But why would you invest money, which would probably be around $15-20 mil for 1 year, in an aging vet for 1 year instead of developing a young QB that already knows the offense and the playbook? Why spend all that money for a QB that is probably gonna be a step DOWN from what we have now and potentially just screw up another season and we just delayed the inevitable for a year. If we give the reigns to Mason, that gives him another season of confidence as a starter, especially if he continues to improve. Pay a QB on a rookie contract to start or OVERPAY for an aging vet QB who will probably retire after next year anyway? It's not like Matt Ryan is taking the Steelers to a Super Bowl. Matt Ryan isn't going to be the secret ingredient that we are missing to get #7.

No thank you. If we give $20+ mil to an aging vet who had 1 fluke year and that year was 6 years ago, I might just rip out what remaining hair I have left from this season.

Well based on this year. They think they hve a winning team. One lst run with ben, who fell apart. So yes they may fee they just need a qb

Says the guy that would rather watch Mason Rudolph for an entire season.

Maybe if Ben retires? I'd take Ben over Ryan for next year.

I'd rather finish 8-8 with Mason than have a losing season with an aging vet who can't make the playoffs anymore.

well , thats just assuming alot.
Is it though? Matt Ryan hasn't led the Falcons to the playoffs or a winning record for the last 3 years and it's just getting worse in Atlanta. I'm going based on what he's doing now so I'll have to disagree with you on that being an assumption. I think it's a proper judgement of current behaviors. We also know that Mason Rudolph can lead us to wins. Shit, we had a better chance of beating the Browns with Mason in Week 17 than we did in the Wild Card game with Ben.
