Guess Wilson gets a pass now fudge? lol

It was an UGLY game they had no business winning. Terrible on both sides of the ball.

5-0

Is Shark still alive? :noidea:

BARELY. Girlfriend had to get the defibrillator in the 4th quarter.

I'm alive again after multiple heart attacks from last night. I will say this, This was an L that somehow turned into a W and could be a big time factor in the playoff seeding. Defense made plays when it had to and the offense struggled really for the first time this season but found the guts inside them to help get the win. It was ugly but 5-0 is still 5-0.

Watched the game from the "sports bar" at the Little Creek Casino near Shelton. Been here many times, has a bit of a different look now with all the COVID crap. My thoughts on the game:
  • Really rough 1st half, obvious to all sighted fans. Just not really sure what that was....pitiful performance on both sides. We were lucky to be only down by 13. Didn't appear that we were aggressive whatsoever on offense, either. Just strange after what we saw the first 1/4 of the season.
  • Why didn't we have better success through the air vs a D ranked so poorly? The OL had its worst performance of the season, and I thought Russell didn't do a very good job avoiding coverage sacks.
  • We need to get better on both sides of the ball on 3rd downs, and quite a bit better at that. We converted not a single one last night, and it seems our defense really only plays well when it absolutely has to. It's not costing us in the standings right now, but it will eventually and maybe very soon.
  • Hard for me to see based on where I was with my BAC, but the INT that Russ threw....was he outside the pocket and therefore preventing the flag for the obvious shove on the receiver? At the time I was shocked not to see the penalty, but outside the pocket is the only thing I could come up with given how blatant the contact was. I couldn't hear anything the broadcasters may have said about it.
  • I guess the 2nd half was good....27 points is very solid for sure, but I thought we should have been able to put up 40 on these guys. They got it together enough to get it done, but holy cow was that frustrating to watch up until then.
  • Where does DK rank on the top WRs in the league list? Not statistically per se (that's easy to look up), but as in a WR "power ranking" type of way -- top 5? If not, then it's very close. He needs to get a little better in securing the catch when getting a good pop, but that's about it. He was huge on that final drive, obviously enough, and he makes big plays every single game.
  • Did Snacks play? I couldn't notice. I don't think so, but I had a less than perfect vantage point without being able to hear the game. Jarran Reed looked like 2018 Jarran Reed.
We gutted it out. It was our own fault for digging that hole we had to climb out of, but at least we did. Not the best game for Russell, but he's set a pretty high standard and was absolutely clutch when he had to be.

Lumping this into a 5 game start, I have zero complaints. It is extremely difficult to win every single week for 5 in a row and I'll take that W every time. Should settle down a little on D with Jamal Adams back and a couple others back after the bye, and hopefully we don't get many more missed starts from key players the rest of the way.

Maybe bring Dan Quinn back home as a "consultant" for the rest of the season??

Snacks didn't play. He was up in a box watching.

Yes, Russ was out of the pocket. Not sure what he was thinking on that play. Ball should have been thrown over their heads.

We were too slow adapting to MN's 2 high safety coverage, but eventually started to hit the in between routes. The big sacks in the first half definitely cut our legs out from under us.

3rd down defense needs to get a whole lot better. I'm hopeful that Jordyn Brooks will eventually be a big part of that, given his speed in the flat.

Thanks....I had like 17 Manny'ses (how the hell do you pluralize Manny's?) and it cut my legs out from under me for sure! Hard to really process and retain everything that was happening (especially without audio) but......FUN!!

The Hawks needed to go to a more run based offense when the Vikings went double high safety. They were selling out to stop the medium to long passing game but for some reason seattle didn't want to run the damn ball!

the first drive where they did that asinine 3rd and 22 draw play when they were only about 8 yards from FG range they had 8 plays and not counting the white flag run they had only 2 designed runs. Against double high safeties you got to play smash mouth and make them bring one down into the box. The second drive they had 1 designed running play. Again they were facing double high safety looks and didn't take advantage of it and that in my eyes is just poor coaching. 3rd drive not a single run play and they were only down 10 and the full game plan is open. Hey Brian Schottenheimer you don't have to be full on passing! mix it up when you have to!

i find this team can be maddening sometimes because it's always been either or for them. If you are not smart enough to understand that you attack a double high look with power running then you shouldn't be calling plays Mr BS!

Teams will follow the Vikings blueprint on slowing Seattle down so i hope they are smart enough to RUN AGAINST THE DOUBLE HIGH LOOK next time -.-

Force teams to put that extra man in the box THEN attack them over the top. God i feel like this team doesn't know how to use the run game to open the pass game or the pass game to open the run game it's like full out one way or the other for them.

LOL... I love me some Manny's... Manny's and Mack and Jack on the top are the best...

I purchased Schilling's Exelsior yesterday for my last round of golf for the year and it was delicious... I'm not really a Seltzer or Cider guy buy someone told me about these so I thought i'd give it a try... I drank 5 can's on the course and had to go to a local restaurant to eat before driving home... 8.5% in each 12z can and they go down like butter... Dangerous drink...

Manny's is the best thing out there right now in my opinion. I'll do a M&J if there is no Manny's and I want something good, but I don't like that nearly as much. I am down here at Little Creek 1 more night and not having to worry about driving, so it's almost Manny's time now....

Bodhizafa, also from Georgetown has been my go to for a few years now. Mac and Jack's and Manny's are too heavy for me these days.

I'm going to leave this here, but I hope all of our faithful get a chance to see this. If you are at all a football junkie, this breakdown of the game winning drive is pretty darn awesome. No hype. Doesn't glorify it. Points out the errors and failures while keeping them in context. It's worth your time to watch.

excellent. I’ve recently discovered osullivans youtube channel, seems pretty in-depth.

I've watched quite a few on other QB's outside of Wilson as well. He really does have some good content that goes right to the big plays, doesn't take forever to go through it, and yet breaks them down both protections and what the defense was doing and does it quite well.

According to ESPN Stats & Information research, this was the 14th win by the Seahawks in a one-possession game since the start of last season. They're 14-2 in such games. No other team has more than 10 wins in one-possession games in that span.

Yes and let's be honest this is not a good stat only because it's unsustainable. You can not keep counting on this to happen every time. They are overdue if you get my meaning.

If the Defense can just turn it up one more tick and hold teams to 21 or less things get much easier.

glad you posted the no no no part of mic'ed up! It reminded me i wanted to talk about DK's blocking! MY GOD the man just man handles people and we see him just flat out killing people and removing them completely from plays with his blocking!

With everything DK adds to this team this is just a huge bonus because of his speed size and POWER! It's like having a olineman running down field pancaking 190 pound DB's lol

Ya, can't keep doing that forever before eventually you get burned.

After rewatching the game, I think Homer is not getting enough credit. He got lit up on that 4-10 as the vikes had a free rusher going straight for Wilson. Great play which allowed Wilson to have the time to throw to DK to stay alive. Bravo Homer, Bravo.
