I keep hoping the rumors are true that we will buy out Odor or pay him off in late September. The guy only knows 1 position and it’s not worth keeping him as a bench player on the roster for just 2nd base and he doesn’t play anywhere close to good enough to start him.

we need to cut bait and eat whatever is left. This team will never be good as long as roogie Odor has a serious role in any capacity.

Offer to pay 14M of his contract and throw in 3 horses to any team willing to take him

Have a heart Scotty. That would embarrass the horses.

I’m going forward with an exception to my usual “ beat astros at all cost” policy.

i want them to sweep us all 6 games left.

top 2 draft position or bust for this crappy Front office.

Daniels had at least 2 years to get a .500 team or better on the field for 2020 the year of the new stadium. That would be the goal of any GM. Remember all the talk in 2017 of what a good free agent year 2019 would be and that Daniels would be tapping into that. What a complete FAIL Why doesn’t he go to the Mets, the team he really wants to GM for. His best years were with Ryan. Daniels jumped the shark years ago.

Then go with younger pitchers. Trade Lynn and jettison Kluber.
And find a way to unload Gibson and Lyles even if we have to eat 50 to 60% of their contracts and get little back in return. Bring:
Allard
Anderson
Bahr
Benjamin
Burke
Cody
Crouse
Herrera
King
Palumbo
Phillips
Vanasco
Winn

to ST and chose the 5 best as our opening day starters

So Elvis is going to be a super-utility player? Seriously?......Odor has been over discussed and equally skewered, and his role should be with another team, or enjoying the fruits-of-his-non-labors, along with a couple of ponies.........I'm never going to understand why Daniels pulled the trigger of signing this guy to big bucks when it was TOTALLY unwarranted. Not John's finest hour........Maybe the Rangers let the best GM roam out to SD eh?

Important to remember: Daniels has people he answers to. If ownership says sign a guy, JD signs a guy.

It could just as easily be said that ownership is responsible for every good decision JD has made.

Owners ultimately make all decisions good or bad based on JD.s recommendations.

yes, that's true. at the very least, they have to approve any decision JD makes. my original point stands: holding JD solely accountable for bad decisions is not telling the entire story, and it's long past time that ownership get heat for the state of the Rangers.

Do you think ownership actually forced JD into signing Odor to a long term contract? I can't see that myself. I don't think too many owners in all of MLB would be that hands on over the last 10 years, with maybe one or two exceptions. I could see them telling him NOT to spend a lot more than telling him to spend or how to spend.

If they did tell him to sign Odor against his better judgment, then for his sake and for his reputation's sake, he should have resigned.

To me the owner's problems are mainly in keeping JD around too long. Kind of like JD's problems used to be mainly about keeping Wash around too long. They have other problems as well as does JD.
