Jim Delaney was awesome for the B1G.

Each school has over $50 million reasons to thank him every year due to the Big Ten Network.

Favorite story from Delaney was when he told ESECPN to shove it and started the BTN. On the first day the BTN broadcast, Delaney sent the president of the four-letter evil empire a bottle of champagne. LOL.

Now every other conference has their own network, but none of them provide the cash that the BTN does for the B1G schools.

The B1G followed in the footsteps of the SEC when it comes to deal making. The CBS deal was the biggest deal in CFB history, opened the door for other conferences and when it ends in a few years the SEC will break history again.

Delaney was a light weight compared to Slive.

Oh and OP is an idiot.

Mike Trangreshe of the Big East

He sat around and watched the ACC rob him blind.

John Marinatto of the Big East

After his predecessor was fired for being an idiot, Marinatto did the same thing. He sat around and watched the ACC and the BIG 12 rob him blind. What is funny, Marinatto sent flowers and a congratulatory note to Dan Beebe for surviving the Beebe flop. Then Beebe stabbed him in the back.

ESPN offered Marinatto quite bit of money for the Big East broadcast rights but he turned it down. Later on, the Big East signed the deal for around 1/6 of the original ESPN offer. BRILLIANT!!!!!

ESPN reaches deal to retain Big East TV rights

Dan Beebe

He favored one and only one school, but his children did get FREE educations there. He wore their team sweatshirts to games. Nah, he never showed any favoritism.

BTW

It is spelled DELANY and he moved to Nashville

Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany is moving back to Nashville

Delany was hands down the BEST Commissioner compared to all the other conferences. he did all his magic while ESPENIS was showing all its favoritism to the SEC. The SEC has ESPENIS as their butt buddy right now.

Michael Slive was a good one for the SEC, but I think Roy Kramer is the one that got the SEC schools to quit reporting each other to the NCAA.

But but the basketball schools are happy...

And Yea, Swafford is Trang’s and Marinara 2.0, appease the basketball schools and bend over for Notre Dame.

To his defense though he DID get an ESPN deal and a “normal” looking conference as far as the full member numbers, BigEast never did that.

some insider on twitter said that some high ranking people of P5 conferences are looking to break free of the NCAA with 4 conferences. Will be 4 divisions in each conference. 5 division games, 5 home and home vs other divisions. Total of 10 conference games, play 2 games vs FCS or group of 5..(ones that aren't the 60 schools selected). BYU and ND are included.

the Big East was always going to fail, regardless of the conference commissioner. Half of their schools didn't play football and UConn did move to the FBS until the early 2000s. Their most prominent football schools were a much better fit for another conference and once that conference came calling, it was only a matter of time before they left.

With that said, adding DePaul and Marquette in 2003 will always be lol worthy. The people running the Big East just did not get it.

Swofford's predecessor sucked too. He could have added both Florida State and Penn State in 1991.

If it happens it will be 5 conferences or politics will kill it.

You or someone is giving Delany too much credit. He didn't come up with the conference network all by himself. He was an assmunch if there every was one
