Fitzpatrick may be inconsistent but I don't believe Tua will ever have his upside. Also, I saw Fitzpatrick finally do something no previous QB had done....establish chemistry with Devante Parker. Tua and Parker I don't see having chemistry at all. It took Fitz to finally get Parker to step up and be the number one receiver, and that's likely to be undone. Even if Fitz starts, he's now under the microscope. Every bad game he has and the fans are going to be crying for Tua. Miami had a good offseason addressing the defense but offense will set them back. Tua isn't an NFL QB.

I said Jalen was the better pick and has more upside.

Wait did you just say Tua doesnt have as much upside as Fitz??

As in Fitz is more talented than Tua?

As in of both play their best then Fitz is better than Tua?

I have a hard time believing he won't. He's more NFL ready than anyone not named Burrow. I have more doubts about Justin Herbert & Jordan Love than I do Tua.

He's going to have to find throwing lanes (not that he hasn't being doing that already), but at this level...players are coached better to keep their arms up.

Secondly...he's going to have to be a good anticipation passer (much like Brees)...hanging on to it like big Ben used to do and make a play that wasn't a play is not how he needs to do it.

Much like CLE, WAS, NYG, really all these teams trying to develop college talent into a NFL franchise QB, the player has to catch on quickly, and the team has to surround him with talent...quickly.

KC and Mahomes is not really the blue print if you ask me. First...KC was not a downtrodden team when they drafted Mahomes...they had playoff caliber talent but not getting enough plays from the QB position.

They made a bold move to draft the young kid, and move the veteran...the kid was ready.

Why don't you give a chance before you decide he ain't an Nfl qb?
Tua has more talent than Fitz will ever have. Dude has off the chartrs talent.
He reads defenses well, is accurate and throws a tight spiral. He checks down to different receivers and is a leader.
Give him a chance and we'll see.
Remember, the Dolphins passed on Brees...... and look how his career turned out.

Would not have drafted Tua, personally. His injury history is very concerning, at least to me. I don't doubt that he's healed up and passes all the exams. My bigger fear is that his body has already shown an inability to stay healthy taking hits - and now he is going to be taking much bigger/harder hits from much larger/faster players.

As for Fitz/Tua - Fitz starts the season as the aged veteran allowing Tua to sit, learn, and ensure he's physically ready. I don't blame Fitz at taking a starting gig. For him, it's a year to see what he can do - if he wins - then he'll be a hot item next year as Tua takes over. If they lose - the team around him is really, really young and he's not going to be expected to really get a whole lot out of them. Kind of a win/win in his book for the year.

But, again - if I were in the Dolphin's place - I would have either traded (if possible, as I know it takes 2 to tango) up for Burrow or traded down and gotten as many picks this year and next as I could and simply start Fitz for the year, and taken my chances with another QB in 2021 draft, or in F/A.

I'm fine with sitting Tua all season. We're paying Fitz 8M. He can take the hits behind our young OL.
Not even twice as much as Chase Daniel.

(Vowel at the end of his name, Howard demanded out of Chicago.)

Should have definitely committed to building around the 38 year old journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick. Whatever were they thinking?
