Fitzpatrick may be inconsistent but I don't believe Tua will ever have his upside. Also, I saw Fitzpatrick finally do something no previous QB had done....establish chemistry with Devante Parker. Tua and Parker I don't see having chemistry at all. It took Fitz to finally get Parker to step up and be the number one receiver, and that's likely to be undone. Even if Fitz starts, he's now under the microscope. Every bad game he has and the fans are going to be crying for Tua. Miami had a good offseason addressing the defense but offense will set them back. Tua isn't an NFL QB.

You are absolutely right...he hasn't even played a game yet.

I remember thinking Miami would contend for the AFCE. But I am always analyzing teams, and when I started seeing a realistic 0-6 or 1-5 start for Miami, I know Fitz is gonna get thrown under the bus. All of their tough games are early(Jacksonville is on short rest).

Fitz was already under the microscope.

I love the guy but people are always waiting for him to fall back to earth after one of his 400 yd 4 td* games. He's consistently inconsistent.

*Using hyperbole to make my point. ;)

Regardless of what you think about Tua...Fitzpatrick is an aging player on team going nowhere anytime soon so he's really not the best fit in MIA...he should be a back up on a playoff team instead of toiling as a starter on a bottom feeder.

Prior to the injury he was a unanimous 1st overall pick... On draft day the only concern anyone should have had over Tua was his long term health.

That said, this is still Miami we’re talking about here. Will they successfully build the right team around Tua? We’ve seen what happened with Tannehill. If Tua doesn’t pan out or “busts” then I’d be obligated to believe it was the FO’s failure.

I think the majority are holding tight to see how the whole Tua thing plays out.
If they are smart they run with the Fitz man for another season, let Tua rehab, get stronger and prove he wont have nagging injuries with this hip.

Lets also not forget there is also a young first rounder in a QB down there as well, I'm curious to see if someone can teach Rosen how to play the QB spot and if he can shake this "black mark" that has been slapped on him since the Cardinals screwed this kid from day 1

Yep...yet the OP said he's not an NFL QB.

I have an admitted bias towards QBs shorter than me (I'm 6'3") so I probably wouldn't have taken Tua, but that's kind of a me problem...he's shown that he can play the position at the highest level in college...now we get to see if his game will transfer to the NFL.

This. Fitzpatrick isn't a long-term answer anyway so he was never going to be the guy. You do realize he is 37. So if Tua doesn't workout or he gets seriously injuries the Dolphins are in some trouble. There is no doubt if he stays healthy he is a better option than Fitzpatrick though....he won't be in the league more than 2 more years with his age alone, I'm really not sure why you mention him. n

Yeah definitely on the same page. It's not like the OP will see it or value my post anyway. He makes threads, walks away and thinks he is always right lol.

Fitzpatrick is going to be 38 this year. Tua probably won't see the field at all this season. Are you guesting they build around Fitzpatrick long term?

OP acts like the Dolphins are SB contender with Fitzpatrick. Good grief. They’ll probably go 6-10 while playing better football than they did last year.

Tua should get a chance when he is healthy and good to go.

I have a hard time believing he won't. He's more NFL ready than anyone not named Burrow. I have more doubts about Justin Herbert & Jordan Love than I do Tua.
