Just giving the history and making fun of the black and white TV comment in a tongue and cheek kind of manner - since Alabama Football on the West Coast pre-dated black and white TV. Hell, even Harper Lee mentioned Alabama playing in the Rose Bowl (again) in To Kill a Mockingbird, and Alabama has a line in their fight song: "Remember the Rose Bowl, we'll win then"

I know that Alabama hasn't played out West a bunch (especially lately), but they do have a history of it going back to the 20s with a 4-1-1 Rose Bowl record. 5-1-1 if you count the BCS Championship Game win over Texas.

Plus, In my lifetime, I remember them playing @ USC in 1971 (listened on the radio), 1977 (watched on TV), @ Washington in 1978 (listened on the radio) and @ UCLA in 2000 (attended) + @ Hawaii in 2002 (attended) and 2003 (watched on TV) in regular season OOC games.

Either way, really looking forward to @ Arizona in 2033!

Ha! Ha! lol. @ USC, What's a CFB Playoff Game? Just messing around, as I really respect USC Football and the Alabama-USC football hisrtory, but just sayin'...Alabama has played more CFB Playoff Games in Pac States (2 with a 1-1 record) than USC has ever played anywhere...PERIOD.

Dude come on man. When does Bama schedule games out west for home and homes. I didn;t know it had to be spelled out for you. This thread is about a scheduled OCC series.
Bring the Bama USC game up all you want when it's relevant to the conversation. I was at that game and the Texas one. When USC played Oklahoma in Miami it doesn't count as an away OCC game. See how that works

Dude, come on. The statement was “Alabama doesn’t like to come out west.” If you want to amend it on behalf of the speaker to “Alabama hasn’t played a home-and-home out west recently”, fine. They haven’t played a home-and-home with many teams, period, lately.

Again we are talking about a "home and home" OOC game.

Then don’t make a more general statement. If you want to take a shot at some of our OOC schedules, I would concur. We certainly have had a couple of really bad ones the past 2 years. But a lack of trips west as a criticism really makes little sense. If there is any region and conference against which Alabama has had minimal problems historically, it’s the west and the PAC. Plus, there are plenty of quality P5 programs a lot closer. To get a quality P5 game, PAC teams HAVE to go east. Eastern teams have no similar requirement to go west.
