Somewhat unrelated, but if Earl Thomas is dealing with his own potential domestic violence issue I can't imagine the Ravens would want to add Brown and his outstanding case.

Based on everything I read, that isn't the case.

He cheated on his wife, got caught, and she was ready to murder him. Had a gun pointed at his head.

Unless TMZ and the other reports missing key details, I think Earl is fine. Doesn't seem like he did much wrong outside of not being faithful

It sounds like a messy situation for sure. He was drinking too much, got into it with his wife, his brother came to get him, and in meantime his wife found photos of him and another woman on his phone. That deteriorated into her threatening him and the two wielding weapons?

I think Earl is in the clear on this one - even though the story is crazy AF - I mean - That's some Lannister/Game of Thrones shit going on with the brother....

As for Brown - it won't matter. The minute he signs, he'll be suspended, at least, for the year - IMO. It's why teams refuse to sign him, really (well, other than he's bat-shit crazy). They don't want to end up paying, potentially, for a guy who won't be available to them for the year.
