Curious if they've shut down parks or lakes where any of you live in response to the COVID-19 virus and in an effort to create distancing.

Here in Nebraska, or in my town at least they have closed the city parks but the trails remain open to walk. They've essentially closed the parks and parking lots because people were congregating in the parking lots. You can still walk the trails but you have to walk to the park I guess?

Boating and fishing is still allowed but they are encouraging distancing like 1 boat at the ramp at a time etc.

Just been too damn cold here to fish the last few days. It was in the 60's on Saturday then woke up to thunder and lightening and hail Sunday morning, temps in the 30's and snow in the afternoon.

Only in Nebraska.

Hoping I find a decent place to Turkey hunt. You can't get more socially distant than that!

We've been spin fishing the local stream for stocked trout and doing well.

We're still open for now but I worry that isn't going to last. People are flocking to the state parks and crawling all over each other.

Idaho F&G shut down hunting & fishing for out-of-state licenses. We've been trying to get that passed for decades! HA!

As far as the state parks, they are open for day use only, no camping. Which is unfortunate, because now I have to battle with the yuppie campers for the good spots off the beaten path. I fear that as soon as my favorite spots become more discovered those douchcanoes won't go back to their state park campgrounds... ugh

Lol. Your spots have terlets? Those yuppie fuckers usually don't like digging a hole to pinch one off.

Camping here is a no-go unless you own your own camp. Right now, I wish I still had my old shack in the woods.

None of my spots have terlets, except for elk camp... But I'd be damn surprised if anyone found those camping spots other than hunters. Its way out in the sticks. We used to use hollowed out stumps and nail a cushioned toilet seat lid to it lol. But the damn F&G threatened us one time so we improvised by making a toilet out of an old metal foldup chair. Used a plasma cutter to cut out a hole on one of these and then welded the toilet seat to it:

Finished it off with a leather drape around the bottom of the seat so that you don't get any splashing on your feet lol. Works like a charm!

All that said however... My wife still made me buy her one of them portable potties from cabelas lmao. Dammit. She deemed shitting in a dirt hole less than desirable.

Considering the glampers we have here in Idaho, I wouldn't doubt they've been buying up all the portable toilets they can find and they'll make use of them at camping spots. Once they realize how peaceful camping can be when you're unchained to the facilities at F&G-managed locations... There's no going back! It would be a damn shame.

Many of our parks are still open here in Michigan, but for about two weeks they shut down boating with a motor. That's back open now. The thing that's really starting to aggravate me is the campgrounds are shut down. I have a fishing trip in early June that we go on every year and I've already booked a backup date in August if it gets canceled. Fishing has been allowed but they've shut down some sites where too many people were congregating. Really hoping some of these restrictions ease up in May. Technically it's still against the rules to go fishing on a boat with someone outside your household. So I'd have to go alone if I want to fish in a boat.

I made a portable shitter our of a five gallon bucket with a hole cut in the bottom an a toilet lid fixed to the top it works good. I'm not a big time camper but when I go hunting for prairie chickens and sharp tails out in western SD some times you just need to squeeze one out.
