Pitchers and catchers have reported.

I'm not gonna be satisfied with anything short of an NLCS appearance.

Cole Hamels is already hurt and won't be ready for opening day.

Not gonna write a novel this year, but here's my prediction for the opening day 26 man roster:

C- Travis D'Arnaud
1B- Freddie Freeman
2B- Ozzie Albie
3B- Austin Riley
SS- Dansby Swanson
LF- Marcel Ozuna
CF- Ronald Acuna Jr
RF- Nick Markakis

BN- Tyler Flowers- C
BN- Ender Inciarte- OF
BN- Johan Camargo- UTL
BN- Adam Duvall- OF
BN- Adeiny Hechavarria- UTL

SP- Mike Soroka
SP- Max Fried
SP- Mike Foltynewicz
SP- Sean Newcomb
SP- Kyle Wright

CL- Will Smith
BP- Mark Melancon
BP- Shane Greene
BP- Chris Martin
BP- Darren O'Day
BP- Luke Jackson(sucks, but what are you gonna do?)
BP- AJ Minter
BP- Felix Hernandez(my dark horse for the Josh Tomlin role)

I'd have the lineup set as:

1. Acuna
2. Ozzie
3. Freddie
4. Ozuna
5. Markakis
6. D'Arnaud
7. Riley
8. Dansby
9. pitcher

Damn.

I’m not impressed.

I’d prefer Ian Anderson over Kyle Wright. The time is now.

Looks about right. Id bet that Flowers is the opening day catcher. For whatever reason the organization seems sold on him. He and D'Arnaud will probably split pretty evenly. Maybe have Jackson get called up occasionally for a spot start.

Also I really doubt Felix does anything. That last spot will probably be a toss up between Webb, Dayton, Sobotka, Ynoa, and Wilson. Hopefully two step up and get rid of Luke Jackson.

D’Arnaud was one of the best offensive catchers in the league while he was with Tampa last season. He better be starting.

You’re probably right about Felix, but I think we’re gonna miss Tomlin

Just wanted to quote this sentence.

Pretty sure I read where Tomlin was offered a minor league contract & invited to spring training.

Tomlin was signed to a minor league deal. So he has a shot to make roster. What he did last year was pretty important to the club. So I wouldn’t be upset.

Wasn’t aware of that. Yeah, I’m changing Felix for Tomlin

Also, I forgot about Jacob Webb. Gonna take him over Minter.

Hopefully Sobotka and Minter perform like they were expected to do last season and take Luke Jackson’s spot, or at the very least since Jackson is like 5th at best in the closer pecking order, he won’t be used with the game on the line

Think it’ll matter? Braves haven’t done shit to help themselves. They’re not as good a team as they were last season. Bullpen is better, but have to get there.

Made it down to the new spring training facility on Saturday. Beautiful new ballpark. Should be a lot of fun to take in some games there.

In my opinion, the Braves are the 2nd best team in the NL and it's not close. Even if Donaldson is brought back, there's no guarantee he does what he did last year. I'll be interested in comparing Donaldson's numbers to Ozuna's at year end. The Braves lost a lot of games because of the bullpen last year. Having guys like Smith, Greene, Martin, and Melancon for a full season goes a long ways. When you get to go to those guys every night instead of using Luke Jackson and Chad Sobotka in high leverage situations you're going to win a lot of those games that were blown.

Freddie is healthy. Dansby is healthy. D'Arnaud >>>>>>> Flowers/McCann.
