when I was young, my dad drove with a beer in his hand every Saturday morning and evening. never got pulled over once.

I get pulled over for having a light bulb out above my license plate, I see plenty of goofs driving around with no license plate at all, but I get pulled over for the dumbest things imaginable.

I have been pulled over 4 separate times in 3 different cars for that same reason, bad plate light. Had no idea the light was out until the cop told me. The one time, I was in another state staying, and we were on our way to a store at 10pm, got pulled over on the way there about the plate light, got pulled over on the way back to where we were staying by the same cop for the same reason. He came up and said, didn't realize it was you again, you may go about your business.

Been pulled over for not having my lights on at 6pm when there was plenty of light out. Pulled over for having a head light out, twice. Been pulled over for having a taillight out. Never got a ticket, but I was told about it and warned to get it fixed, which I always did.

I think it's about numbers.

police have a lot to do, I'm sure. multiple people filing reports for them to go through every day related to car accidents, disputes, and so on. addicts starting trouble, thugs starting fights, mentally ill people causing situations

but I think traffic cops have quotas to fill (although it's not a quota, because that's illegal, it's something that works just like a quota, but they call it something else)

so they pull over safe looking people for dumb reasons.

Can't say I really blame them, but it seems like busy work.
This is why I dismiss any political candidate promising to hire more police. I feel like another candidate will just lay off those police later when people realize there are too many of them and vote for the other candidate who promises to trim the fat.

People driving without plates are people who couldn’t afford to pay a fine anyway. Thus, they don’t get pulled over.

Cincinnati is just getting more ghetto.

I saw a person who drew their number on cardboard and wrote a little apology on it.
