What are your Expectations for Joe Burrow in the NFL his Rookie Year?

I don't see the Dalton comparisons at all.

He looks to me like a similar prospect to Daniel Jones and I expect him to have a similar rookie season on a losing Bengals squad.

Who says in this league? You did see the 49ers go from the #2 pick in the draft to the #1 seed in the NFC right? Granted, Cincinnati doesn't have the defense SF does, but I think they can have a potentially better offense if Green comes back healthy and that oline is fixed a little more. Winning may not be as crazy as you think. Dalton was able to do it his first 5 years.

Do they actually keep AJ? If so, is he healthy? I mean, the guy hasn't completed a season in like 3 years. Honestly, I'm all for a sign/trade with him. Boyd is decent, and Tate came on this year - draft another WR and move on.

The biggest question, though, is what will they do with the OL. They need to sign at least 2 upper tier OL - and well, history shows that probably won't happen. Without the protection - Burrows is likely to be Bengalized before the 5th game of the season.

I don't foresee a Mahomes like start for Burrow, but in a couple of years he will settle in to what he's going to be as a pro. The Bengals prefer to build thru the draft which is good, but it takes time. He will have his #11 overall LT back next year. Solid RB, and you mentioned the WRs...se shall see.

FWIW...I agree on AJ Green. He's still a good player if he's on the field, but he can't stay on the field...get what you can, draft another WR and maybe look at the mid level FA market if needed. No reason to continue to carry Green on a team that might not be ready for postseason play for another yr or two.

They get Jonas Williams back next yr... that's a big help assuming he pans out.

As a Colts fan, I will take Dalton to bridge the gap till the QB the Colts draft is ready. Brissett sucks worse than Dalton, so any improvement is good with me.

It is a very tough division. Baltimore is fantastic now, Pittsburgh is always freaking good it seems (and if they are not, they just need a season to recover), and Cleveland is definitely improving and have the talent to be very good. Cincinnati is still the weak link, but I think they have pieces to build around. Problem is, we just waited to long to where our best players are starting to see age kick in, Green, Atkins, Dunlap, etc.

I do thank Pittsburgh for releasing Fred Johnson though, he could be our future RT.

Yeah...can't keep'em all I guess, but he was a promising kid. PIT was looking at Johnson as a G actually....they have a guy on the PS, but now with them possibly looking to move on from Foster and they probably will need a G...would not surprise me if they used their 1st draft on a interior OL.

Bengals already stated Green will be back. That's why they didn't bother letting him come back late in the season so he could be completely healthy for training camp. I think they know that QB is the position most in need of an upgrade. The Oline is a huge priority too though. Expect to get their first rounder from last year back and hopefully get it solid and the offense will be okay. They will need it. The defense is not good.

I am shocked they kept Green in a full blown rebuild.
He may have 1-2 good years left MAX. Assuming he can play in a full season anymore.
He is nothing more than a big name at this point.
They fact they didn't put him on IR until week 16 shows the management has no clue what they are doing.

For his sake, I hope they let him gain some valuable sideline time. No need for him to be starting day 1, Cincy isn't built to immediately start winning with just better QB play. He can be special.

AJ green had no intention of playing football this year, the bengals can spin that however they want.....AJ, wasnt playing.

It had been time to move on from Lewis for years. We needed someone a little more progressive, able to keep up with the new league and its high powered passing attacks. Lewis was a defense guy that wasn't doing great with the defense, and he didn't seem like a great talent evaluator anymore. Too many flops coming into the building.

I was a little shocked we only won two games this year, even under a new head coach. Taylor definitely struggled to create game plans early on, but towards the end of the season, both the offense and the defense really started coming around to the new schemes. We started finding our more reliable offensive lineman, Dalton was protected more, and Mixon took the pressure off Dalton.

If Taylor was smart, he would customize his playbook to be built around Burrow's strengths, lik ethe Ravens did with Jackson. Build a play book Joe is comfortable with from day one, and let him go. That means stomping out any egos on the coaching staff, and saying, this is our QB, these are his strengths, this is what he did really well in college, and I am going to allow Joe to help me build a playbook around his skill set.

If they do that, he can start from day one.

Better version of Daniel Jones is my quick read on him, too. Very pro-ready, capped upside, but should be able to walk in and win football games.

Depending on what happens to the Steelers and Browns, though, you could see the Bengals win 6 to 8 games next year. If the Bengals oline gets healthier/more talented then maybe you could even see a major turnaround in the near future.

Well, if you factor in that Mahomes sat for a year and joined a playoff quality team with multiple quality targets, he could be Mahomes-ish but without all the wins. Burrow simply won't be starting off with as much talent around him as Mahomes did (and was able to sit and learn for a year).
