No one questioned Josh McCown's toughness before Sunday's Eagles game, but now we have one more log for the storytelling fire.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that McCown tore his hamstring off the bone in the second quarter of the 17-9 loss to the Seahawks and played through the injury.

McCown will undergo surgery, with a six-month recovery timetable, Garafolo added.

Ok... just to recap: no flag on the play, no stoppage of play by the injury referee instructing Wentz to leave the game to be evaluated, no official on the field viewed Wentz after the play and told him to leave the field to get evaluated despite Wentz playing several more plays including taking another hit and after endless whining from eagles fans that it was a cheap shot the league carefully and thoroughly reviewed the play and determined that the hit did not warrant a fine or suspension. Do I have that right @Jordan23?

The way I understand it is the only reason Wentz was checked is he self reported. In all honesty I don't have an issue with him doing so because in the end, this is just a game he might play 15 years. A long healthy life is more important right now. It's possible that if the Eagles were SB favorites, he keeps his mouth shut.

And those guys were dumb to do it. You don’t mess around with brain injuries. Wentz wants to have a normal life outside of football. I, for one, am applauding him for realizing his long term health is important.
