I thought it was a strong show. Jericho is a legend. He elevates everyone elses starpower when they're in a segment with him.

Today's rating is their most important since week 1. They need to see if last week was a holiday fluke or a potential problem

the lexicon was awesome

classic jericho.

felt like 1997 again.

AEW just consistently puts out good stuff.

Fenix and Pentagon Jr could both be stars. Fantastic in ring talents. Love watching them.

Jon Moxley doesn't give one flying fuck about Renee Young! I know they're married, but if Moxley truly cared about his wife, he wouldn't have buried her employer on Talk Is Jericho.

Jon Moxley On Renee Young's Reaction After Telling Her That He Wanted To Leave WWE, NJPW Status - Wrestling Inc.

In addition to Young, Moxley went on to say that she has been in his corner since the moment he decided he wanted to leave the WWE. Her only concern was for him to be happy and pursue his wrestling career to greater heights. He even added that she had no qualms about what he was going to say on Chris Jericho's Talk Is Jericho podcast. She wanted him to tell his story his way.

"Way before, I'd be like 'Ah, screw it, maybe I'm going to New Japan. I'm not going to re-sign [with the WWE].' She said 'Good, don't. Whatever you want to do, do it. Whatever makes you happy.' I'm like 'Good,'" Moxley began. "I even asked her before I did the Jericho show, I was like 'Is there anything you don't want me to say?' And she said 'No, say whatever you want.' She didn't give an f**k. She's untouchable. She's completely irreplaceable in her spot - no fear of reprisals."

calling young irreproachable and irreplaceable is kinda laughable.

seeing Moxley enter the ring thru a crowd of 2500 people just does not have the same effect as when Roman did it.

I mean there was some talent around him.

and Cody being good in the ring, and so over, brings some energy to the match.

Cody/MJF has the ability to be the feud of 2020.

That MJF promo....

that was good stuff.

Way better than the pre-recorded stuff on NXT last night (which, in theory, shouldn't happen).

I liked the Brandi Rhodes and Dark Order stuff as well. A nice mix of different promo types.

With Marty Scurll more than likely finishing up with ROH this weekend, when do you think he’ll appear with AEW? I’m thinking either the January 1 show or at Revolution.

Nope, he just debuted for the NWA.

And as of last night the rumor is he has already or is in the process of re-signing with ROH

Well, it was rumored he had an independent date booked, so it could’ve been the show tonight. I suppose he could do one set of tapings for NWA and put over his buddy Aldis again. He’s also booked for the ROH show tomorrow.
I’d be shocked if it was a long term extension with ROH if that’s true. He’ll probably be biding his time until some of the VE members are available if that’s the case. Plus, they’ve been throwing hints about him here and there, so I believe it’s inevitable that he ends up in AEW.

That was legitimately surprising. NWA did a great job keeping that secret because everything leaks out nowadays. I let a real "holy shit".

I'm not sure it means he re-signs with ROH though. Unless they've fixed it in the last couple of months, there's been some bad blood between the two companies after NWA left to start their own show. There was show over the summer and NWA pulled all its talent from. And there was a story out today that Colt Cabana is done with ROH. He also works NWA so maybe it got to a point where he had to choose one or the other.

I saw a rumored leak of a bunch of talents that were going to get cut on Joey Mercury's twitter, so don't know how truthful or not that will end up being and Colt was listed on it. I think Colt will be fine on the Indy scene and I'd assume he can occasionally go back to NJPW if they'd want him around.
As for Marty, I'm thinking if he does indeed stick around with NWA for a bit, the Jackson's will probably let him know when they have a spot available for him and he'd be in AEW shortly after that.
One thing that does interest me is how much of a pit or moneymaker NWA is. I can't imagine it being too profitable and it's not like Billy Corgan has Tony Kahn or Vince McMahon money to survive for a long period of time with losses.

Depends on how much they are paying their talent. I think I saw something where Corgan's partner, Dave Lagana, said they are doing well. But they are still pursuing a TV deal of some kind. I doubt they can make it long term without one. Even with limited costs by filming in one studio, there's only so much money you can make from Youtube (not much) and PPV buys
