Adam Shefter stated earlier5 this weeki that there are three possibilities regarding Tom Brady for 2020.

1. He retires
2. He signs elsewhere
3. He re-signs with the Patriots

Shefter said there is only a 10% chance that he resigns with the Patriots. What does Shefter know? Since he released that tweet on Tuesday, Shefter has been barraged by every football and sports media hound in the world. He has not backed off his statement, but he did say that it is not a prediction.

Shefter is not stupid and he purposefully left out option #4.......................

4. Tom Brady is traded.

Bill Belichick is not the kind of guy to just let someone screw him. His face still bristles when Curtis Martin leaving the Patriots for the Jets is mentioned.

When pressed, Shefter would not even hint at his source or how came to the conclusion.

Last night while being questioned he hesitated when someone asked him if a trade was a possibility and he quickly said, "I don't anything about a trade." Which begs the question, 'What have you heard about a trade?'

The trade deadline is Tuesday Oct. 29 at 4:00 PM EST. Rumors are starting about the possibility that Belichick has already gotten the 'go ahead' from both Robert and Johnathan Kraft to see what he can do. It's assumed that Kraft will talk or has already talked to Brady and/or his agent and they know that Tom will not be able to resign in New England for the dollars that he's looking for. The absolute best the patriots could offer would be less than $30M or they'd have to start disassembling the team. IF Brady is traded, he opens up a $27.5M cap space.

Speculation is that Brady will cost his new team a 1st and 2nd in 2020 and a 1st and 3rd in 2021 and the team's present quarterback. Why would they keep their present starter??

There are five teams that are the only real places where Brady could realistically land ......

Chicago
Jacksonville
Tampa Bay
Miami
Denver

Will The Patriots be 8-0 and starting a new quarterback next week in Baltimore? If so, where will Tom Brady be playing on November 3?

You can deny it all you want, but the reality is that the Brady/Belichick Era may be coming to an end, sooner than later.

TB and BB will collect #7 together or not at all. 7 is more important to them as well as the Krafts.

Meh at this point I for one am cool with what ever he wants to do. He will be a 1st ballet HOF player and he will go in as a Patriot. He owes this fan base and this organization not one darn thing.

Now rumor is he is buying a home in Connecticut not sure the travel time to Foxboro from that location but as those of who grew up in the region know Connecticut is still a part of New England. This being said it looks like retirement to me.

And I think the Pats take a QB early in this years draft.

When I lived in Milford CT I could get to Foxboro in under 2 1/2 hours (not counting the ungodly traffic outside the stadium, or navigating that wonderful dirt parking lot). From the Eastern CT border, it's just over an hour.

Which would be a bit of a drive on a daily basis for practice?

Shefter bases his opinions on what? Brady and his trainer putting their homes up fort sale? Brady's contract expiring again? Brady is not playing for another team. Period. That is so ridiculous.

Truth be told, we don't know his source.

I go back to YankReb's comment about Brady owing everybody absolutely nothing. I'll appreciate everything I get to see and won't cry about losing anything.

Are you seriously speculating that BB would trade the starting QB on an undefeated defending SB champ that is the heavy favorite to repeat as a hedge against him playing elsewhere next year? And claiming that the Krafts gave him the go-ahead to do so? Put the fucking pipe down, man.

I put the chances thusly:

85% Brady re-signs with the Pats
10% Brady retires
5% Brady signs with the 49ers

-1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000% Brady gets traded in the next 4 days

Brady was asked a press conference on live TV a few minutes ago what he will do next year. He did not say that it will work out or take care of itself. He did not say he was considering retirement. He said that all he's thinking about is the game on Sunday. When pressed, he said that the media is more worried about his future than he is. He never hinted that he wants to stay in NE or expects to be a Patriot next year. In the past he's always said it will work out and that he'd be a Patriot.

As far as Shefter is concerned, he has a Rolodex the size of an oil storage tank. When he says something, he's basing it on inside knowledge and he doesn't repeat rumors. The guy's information is always spot on. When he makes a statement, he stands by it. He's been adamant about this since Tuesday. Whoever gave him this stuff must be reliable and more than likely, he got it from Brady, Belichick, Kraft or Yee (Brady's agent) or soimeone extremely close that's never given him bad info in the past.

As far as a trade goes, Belichick has never, not once, not traded a player who he felt was going to leave if he thought he didn't have a chance to resign him. If the Chiefs are going to give Mahomes 5 years and $210M with $150M guaranteed, Do you honestly think Brady will play for the Patriots for his last three years for $25M a year? The Pats don't have shit for cap space and Brady is costing them $27.5M this year. Even if the cap goes up $10M they can't give it to Brady, they need at least half to sign rookies. Only two other players are making more than $10M and those are D. McCourty and Hightower. I can't see Kraft or Belichick sacrificing the future of the Patriots to sign Brady to a lucrative final goodbye contract.

Perhaps Brady is simply sick of answering these stupid fucking inquiries over and over and over again and has nothing left to say? I mean, why in the fuck would he EVER go play somewhere else when he's already on the team with the best chance to win the Super Bowl? At 42 years old and rich as fuck is he seriously going to end his career somewhere else for a few bucks that don't mean jack fucking shit to him? And who in the fuck is going to pay top dollar for a 42 year old QB? And Belichick trade the QB of a currently undefeated team? HUH?????????

I'm with this guy.

Okay I see BK is in Stretch Armstrong Mode. Brady always talks about 1. Preperation 2. Team Practice 3. Opponents Strengths. I can't remember an interview mid season where he talked about his future and when he does it's usually " We'll see how things go" Ken I really think you are making Mt Washington out of Bunker Hill

Certainly not the ghost of Flacco that’s out zombie walking around the field for the Donks these days, anyway.
