Seahawks and Lions made a trade. Seahawks get Quandre Diggs and a 7th rounder in 2021. We give up a 5th rounder next year.
I know nothing about Diggs.
He won't add what you are hoping at CB, he was always on the roster bubble until he was moved to safety. He is not amazing, but a solid starter and a steal for just a 5th.
The Hawks are looking for a safety that is solid at reading the run and stopping it and one that is solid in covering the slot receivers. Also one that is intelligent and makes his reads well. Diggs is solid in all these area's and now the Hawks have 5 CB/S they can put on the field and we can say goodbye to running the base 4-3 50%+ of the time with Linebackers covering WR/TE and Running backs all the time. Diggs keeps his eyes and tracks well, Let me say this he would have stopped Jackson last game on some of his longer runs i have no doubt about that.
Just in time, too. I was expecting Matty Ice to slice us and dice us for 400 yards. Maybe now we hold him to 275.Yep... We're going to move towards a nickel instead of our normal 4-3 base defense... This is the best decision at this point... We need more speed in the field instead of relying on our LB's to cover such a big area... We've been picked apart via the pass in the soft zone behind our LB's... We were very successful last season with Coleman and haven't been the same since... I love this acquisition...

He was a pretty good safety last year but struggled with some injuries. Rumor is Lions were going to let him walk since they have some younger guys they want to plug in. Lions fans seem pissed about it but that can mean whatever.
Either way secondary has been really all over the place this year. Tons of WIDE open guys even when the pass rush hits, so I'm fine with any change/improvement.

With the way our DBs have played "a solid starter" who is only 26 seems like a nice addition. Doesn't seem too crippling for you guys since it sounds like ya'll have a lot of depth there.
I initially thought you guys overpaid for Justin Coleman but right now it's looking like a nice investment. Would kill to have him back.

Based on player reactions to the trade, Slay will be available soon as well.
