Here's the thing with this, imo...

Speaking out against whatever someone is unhappy with is as American as it gets. This country was founded on dissent. If someone doesn't like something, they have every right to speak out and if they can get enough people to agree with them, they can change things. If not, then things remain the way they are and those who want to change them go back to the drawing board.

Speaking out against racism, a president that he doesn't like or anything else, doesn't make Lebron a piece of shit. It makes him an American exercising his right of free speech.

Saying that Morey is "misinformed" or "uneducated" and calling for the league to punish him for exercising the same right to free speech that he exercises all of the time doesn't make him a piece of shit either.

However, it does make him a hypocrite which is pretty much what all of the criticism he has received has been about.

A big part of the problem in this country is that, in today's political climate, if you disagree with a liberal, you are automatically labeled as some sort of "ist" (racist, sexist, misogynist, etc.) or some sort of "phobe" (homophobe, xenophobe, etc.).

If you disagree with a conservative you are automatically labeled as someone who hates America.

Until we get past all of that, we're going to continue to be divided. That's not a "Trump problem", or a "Biden or Pelosi problem", it's not even a Republican and Democrat problem. It's an all of us problem.

This is actually the biggest problem with politics today. Without any unbiased examination of the opposition it reverts to an "us vs. them" mentality which is incredibly stupid. Whether or not you're a Conservative or Liberal, not having the ability to recognize grey area or middle ground has become increasingly destructive divisive. There are extremists on both sides and unfortunately those are the ones who get the most air time and the ones that you get associated with.
