Dalton had one of his better games and it was...
- without AJ Green
- without Cody Glenn
- with no runninh game
- on the road in loudest stadium in the league

Tough loss but it was promising if our head coach can maximize Dalton's play. Plus after yesterday the division looks wide open.

Is it? Ravens put up 59 points and won by damn near 50 points.

Maybe I'm wrong but I can't buy Lamar Jackson morphing into Patrick Mahomes in the offseason. I think that had as much to do with the Dolphins as the Ravens offense.

Yeah, I think playing the Dolphins had a lot to do with that. That team is brutally bad right now.

What the Dolphins are doing is an embarrassment to the league. I'll be interested in watching Jackson this season, but I don't think yesterday really told us anything about that team.

I liked the way the Bengals played.... Lets hope they can keep it up now that the other teams have tape on them. That was probably an underrated advantage to our defensive performance yesterday.

Thats not to take too much away from Jackson because that's as well as a QB can play statistically. But until I see that him do that again Im looking at that as a one week anamoally.

If he did make that type of jump as a passer the Ravens are going to run the division and challenge the Pats and Chiefs in the conference.

if Cayenne Peppa can play like a veteran QB all season long like this, this may be tolerable. Oh, it will still suck, but it will be tolerable.

So instead of being bad enough to get a top pick, we will be just mediocre enough to pick somewhere between 12 and 20...as usual.

It's the Bengal way.

oh don't worry, if we draft a top pick that isn't named AJ Green, it's almost nearly always a bust.

Remember David Carter, Akili Klingler, or Ki Janna Smith? good times.

I remember being so happy when I got Ki Janna Carter's rookie card as a kid. I put it in one of those plastic crush proof cases and everything. Not long after I learned that those crush proof cases don't hold up well to a hammer.

Neither did Ki-Jana's knee.

It was a disappointing loss, especially when we outplayed Seattle. But there were many things to be encouraged about.

Y'all realize where all this 'encouraging loss' stuff is going, right? Bet big on the 49ers this week - I feel a big fat egg being laid at home. Hobs is going to have to put his boner away next week.

Probably. But until then, I have a few more days of feeling okay, instead of completely horrible about this team.

I've got a bad feeling about this week. I think Bengals fans assume we're going to win this game. On the flip side, San Francisco is flying under the radar. At the beginning of last year, everyone assumed they were a playoff team and even a threat to go deep in the playoffs. Then Jimmy G. got hurt an they became an afterthought. Jimmy G. has struggled a bit during the preseason and first game, but I think people are forgetting how excited they were about him before the injury..... This feels like one of those weeks where we run into a buzzsaw - A team that is getting ready to get everyone talking again.
