In one of those guillotine leagues. Now a team roster goes to the waivers. $100 budget. Naturally everyone needs help in a league that started with 17 teams. I am in bad need of WRs ( well more then just WRs but they are my biggest weakness). My roster:

Best WRs available now:

So how should I bid this? Think some folks are going all in with all or most of there budget. Some will hold back to be able to win top players later without having to go all in necessarily. Some will try to get cheaper but yet useful players here.

I could use a RB or two also. Not as enticing but still could help. Here they are:

QBs available:

TEs available:

Hardly worth bothering about TEs.

So give me your best advice and/or opinion. Need advice pronto!

I would go all in on julio jones...

Money doesn't matter... especially when you are getting an extra first round pick...

not sure how your FAAB works, whether you can still add players with 0 dollars or not... but I wouldn't fear going expensive on the player you need most... and that is clearly Jones...

especially if you want to survive this week...

Here's an article on the subject:

Guillotine League Strategies for the First Timer - Fanball

Guillotine Strategy 3: Don’t blow your FAAB early.

The waiver wire is the best part of a Guillotine League. It’s the only format where Saquon Barkley, Mike Evans, Zack Ertz, and Patrick Mahomes could all hit the waiver wire in Week 1. This never happens in any other league.

Keeping your emotions in check is a critical part to staying alive in a Guillotine League. When an entire team’s draft gets dumped to free agency, it’s awfully tempting to throw huge dollars after those players.

But, remember, the next week another entire roster will hit the waiver wire, and you could be looking at David Johnson, Odell Beckham, Le’Veon Bell, and Hunter Henry among others. There’s going to be strong helpers available on the waiver wire each week.

Most of the time, you’ll want to save your FAAB for a long season of attrition—literal attrition.

Obviously, if you’re getting destroyed at a position, you’ll need to invest FAAB to fix your problem. But, you shouldn’t break the bank unless you’re pretty confident that your team is on the chopping block.

Plus, the buying power of each FAAB dollar increases each week as teams get eliminated and their money is removed from the pool.

Well I see the advantage of not blowing your budget.....if you can keep from being the one getting his head cut off. I was 9th in points for this week, but got lucky with Jackson going off. Don't think I can count on that happening two weeks in a row. Scoring by my players last weekend:

I could see getting better production from some that didn't preform this week, but still feel I need to grab a WR.

Well I see your point, but most likely be the last week I get a player then. 15 teams will have more money going forward then. I think I need 2 WRs and another RB if I want to win this thing. Spending everything on one player will leave me lacking at some point. I'll have to ask about $0 bids and are they allowed.

I mean of course it depends on the faab rules. As the season goes on you can play matchups. But now it is all about starting the best possible players.

Nothing in the settings on bidding and if zero bids count. Asking in the chat.

But you need to realize in the first few weeks you will only be able to get one stud in faab. Once you get one you will not have the money to get another. No matter what. So why not spend it all now. Get that player you need. And then fill in your team later.

If zero bids are allowed then I go all in. If it is not then I would go 70 on Julio and 50 on cooks.

zero bids work, in case of several zero bids on a player lowest ranked team wins bid.

Never done one of these but I would put a very nice bid for Julio or Evans. It would still leave you open to getting another big name another week as well. At least that's how I would go about it.

Think your right about that, but you might be able to grab say Cooks for say $60. then whole off until teams have blown their wad, course if you don't make the cut you'd regret not going all in. Looking at projected scoring ( for what it's worth):

Course my problem is I didn't draft very good, so surviving becomes a focus.

$5-$10 on Amendola or A J Brown. Is DJ Chark available? Jacksonville seemed to be looking in his direction Sunday.

I don’t like this advice. Problem with the small bids in the first week is you have no clue how the league is going to bid on players. And you don’t want to risk not being able to get a big guy in the first 5 weeks.

For example, what if you do get amendola for 10. But someone else gets Julio Jones for 95. That is going to set the market for future bids. And the next weeks it will only get higher since now people know how much people will bid.

If you are not going for the bigs, then I would only do zero bids.

Well I won bids on Cooks for $35. and Aaron Rogers $11 and Keesean Johnson $4

Jones went for $51 and Evans for $50

Surprisingly teams were mostly conservative on bids (considering it's a guillotine league). Think folks must of read the articles which recommend bid low, bid late. I was surprised that I won the Rogers bid as I wasn't sure I needed a upgrade to Ben and figured someone would out bid me surely.

My projected score only increased by 5 points. The team with the lowest projected points didn't make a move.

@MilkSpiller22 no max bids.

I consider this a total failure of a waiver wire for you. You spend half your money(50) and you don’t get either Jones or Evans who went for close to what you spent.

Now in the next few waiver wires you are not going to have any money left to spend on an elite. Remember the market is now set at 51 for the top option!!!

Sorry buddy. But you just lost!!!

 How many of these guillotines league you've been in prior to this year? I'm guessing zero. Actually I think I over paid for Cook, but really had no idea how bidding would go. I know one thing, using my whole budget on Jones as you suggested would of been a huge mistake. I'm OK just getting solid players rather then over paying for studs.
