I haven't been on SportsHoopla since Dec 2017 until recently when I got a new Tower. But, I'm always for the trenches. It sure would be nice if the Offense and Defense showed up on the same day. Since it wasn't me, I'm guessing it was you.

BTW, Decker made the bigger mistakes during the Cardinals game, but that O-Line wasn't solid throughout the game. Can't put it all on Decker... If there was a fix for Decker it only be someone else in the Limelight.

I don't think much has changed for the Lions. They've scored all their points(3) in the 4th quarter for that forth quarter heroic come back. During the Super Bowl era the Lions have a Head Coaching graveyard(none of them ever went on to become an NFL head coach elsewhere). Seeing how the Lions were man handled I couldn't help but to bring a flash from the past...

Because noone gives a shit about score or situation in a preseason game. They are there to get reps and thats it. The first half of Game 3 is the only time that even remotely matters in preseason.

Marinelli wanted to build a Tampa 2... that was fun watching the Offense trying outscore the Defense.
Schwartz (the Millen twins in the front office) wanted to build the Steelers.
Caldwell was mixed on Colts and Baltimore... that was a good thing.
Patricia wants to build the Patriots... Rob Gronkowski threatened to retire rather than accept a trade to the Lions. The Lions are trying to grow a Gronk of their own with T.J. Hockenson without deflategate or spygate.

In the past decade the Lions have drafted 3 TE's Pettigrew, Ebron and now Hockenson to ruin. Hockenson is destined to be the kind of guy who gets overly praised for his blocking as he catches 40 eight-yard button hooks per season.
Caldwell had 3 winning seasons in 4 years. The immortal Jim Bob Cooter was with Caldwell winning record got canned. Matthew Stafford was like forbidden from throwing the ball past the LOS last season. The last time the Lions pushed the "run first offense" so hard was during Rod Marinelli tenure, which everyone knows how well that worked out.

For me I'm getting the feeling of deja vu of the Millen era of down grading. Matt Patricia is showing signs of riding the Gravy Train. It sure seems like the Lions peaked after their first play of the year.
