exactly this. i really liked them growing up, but honestly, this new song sounds like i heard it on lateralus 18 years ago.

But they were the only incredibly overrated band I could think of.

I personally think Descending, Pneuma, and Invincible are the standout tracks.

Tempest and Fear Inoculum sound like they're just trying to please fans with the same thing they're used to. Even Pneuma kinda sounds like Schism but it goes a different place.

I tried to listen to 7empest on satellite radio yesterday, and almost ran off the road due to sudden onset narcolepsy.

They bore the shit out of me. Buncha bells and whistles is all I hear.


I don't hate them, but I doubt I'll ever hear this album in its entirety. Just doesn't move the needle for me.
