It is brutal. Someone mentioned 4 losses minimum, but if they go 8-4 against a schedule like that they will be in the top 20 at regular season’s end....and they should be.

There were 5 teams with 4 loses in the top 20 including Texas who finished #9. Finishing top 20 is not a reach for A&M

Well they play #1, #2, #3, #6, and #16 so yes. They go 8-4 against that I imagine they’ll end the regular season not much further back than what they are now at #12. What a bitch of a schedule.

I feel ya but, those are preseason rankings. Don't get me wrong I think a number of those may be close to their preseason rankings but, looking at the rest of their schedule, pretty much nothing there. I would also add it would depend on how bad they are beaten or how close the games are on the ones they lose. You get blown out on some if those and well...?

Fair enough but, these are preseason rankings. All I am saying, chaos can and will happen. I will also reiterate it may depend on close those games are or are not.

Yeah, but they're not gonna have a ccg involved or a big bowl game. 9-4 with a mid tier bowl win seems like best case. They finish between 15-20 and you still get points.

I'm surprised more people aren't picking auburn. We could very well end up unranked.

Thought about Auburn and Texas A&M and LSU since they all play in the SEC West. Reality is, they can all adsorb a loss from a rankings standpoint much easier than anybody else in the country simply due to the division they play in. And deservedly so.

For me, Ohio State sticks out the most.

2nd year coach that nobody really heard of till last year is breaking in a transfer QB with 4 returning starters on Offense with a single returning starter on the OL. And that QB transfer is from Georgia who couldn't beat out Jake Fromm Allstate.

I also don't see the stud WRs at Ohio State like we have seen recently. KJ Hill is good, Victor is alright. Where is the Parris Campbell? Michael Thomas? Terry McLaurin? Who can force double-teams and stretch the field to demand 2 deep Safety looks all game long?

I also don't see JK Dobbins as anything special at RB either. Solid, but does he really scare opponents like a Zeke? Maybe Master Teague or DeMarrio McCall takes over much of the duties as either of them breaks out this year?. A ton of ? marks for me for a #5 ranked team in the country that lost 7 starters on offense including a QB that threw for 50 TDs last year.

Schedule is also tough. They draw Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Nebraska from the West with 2 of those on the road and Penn State and @ Michigan to end their regular season. I have no problems seeing 3 or more regular season losses for Ohio State this year. Cincy on 9/7 could well be a very interesting game as well.
